I had an extremely disappointing and upsetting experience at this establishment, and I feel compelled to share it.I placed a takeaway order and arrived at the restaurant to collect it. I was initially greeted by a very polite and professional young Black man, who informed me that my order wasn't quite ready yet. However, shortly after, a woman who appeared to be a bar staff member, contradicted what he had just said, in a very rude and dismissive tone.Trying to remain calm, I ignored her rudeness and simply asked the young man for a plastic spoon. As he was about to hand it to me, the same woman returned and abruptly said, “No, we don’t give spoons to non-customers,” assuming I was a delivery driver. I attempted to explain that I was, in fact, a paying customer collecting my own food, but she continued to be incredibly rude and unprofessional. To my disbelief, she then told me to wait outside. Completely confused, I stood there unsure of what was going on—then she called her manager, who identified himself as the owner. Shockingly, instead of addressing the issue or apologizing, he asked me to leave the restaurant. When I inquired about the food I had already paid for, he told me I wouldn’t be receiving it and advised me to “call your bank and cancel the payment.” He then added that I needed to leave because I was "making his worker feel unsafe."I want to be very clear: I am a petite woman, weighing about 55 kg, dressed in casual house clothes, simply collecting a meal I had ordered. I did absolutely nothing to warrant this kind of treatment. The young man who initially helped me seemed just as baffled by the situation.Whether I was a customer or a delivery driver, I should not have been treated with such disrespect and hostility. No one should. I have also posted a video of the interaction, as the behavior displayed was completely unacceptable.I will never return here and strongly advise others to reconsider spending their money at a place that clearly lacks basic customer service standards and...
Read moreThe restuant gives out free bread that is as dense as a pretzel and tastes like it too. It comes with olive oil, you can request butter if you so desire it.
For starters I tried the meatballs and calamari. The meatballs were tender, flavorful & I believe they were pork. My calamari was tender, perfectly seasoned and lightly breaded. The meatballs and calamari came with the same rosé type sauce, it had a nice kick of sweetness, cream and tomato sauce, it was honestly delicious and I fell in love with it immediately.
I had the risotto ettore and holy moly it was a game changer! The rice was tender, the black truffle was the perfect amount and not overpowering and the cheese was pully and not too over powering. I felt like I was I heaven when I was eating it. I was honestly worried that the truffle would be too much but it wasn't so I was very happy about it.
The risotto al funghi e tartufo was meh, the rice was undercooked and it was very disappointing. Not a whole lot going on with the dish.
We also had the petto pollo al masala, it had a sweet flavor that was so tasty. The chicken was thin and juicy with mushrooms on top that were delicious. There was a side of cut potaoes that had some sort of seasoning that was really good and not salty but very savory.
I was pretty disappointed in the lasagna, it tasted fine but when I took the leftovers home and cut into it I legitimately found 12 layers of pasta, with a slim line of meat sauce x2 and some ricotta. The pasta was very soft which was nice, but knowing this I wouldn't get it again.
There is also live music once a month by Emmanuel Trifilio, I spoke to him and he's a great guy with soothing music. I definitely recommend stopping by to have a great meal with some wonderful music.
Overall I definitely recommend checking this spot out, everything including the food and atmosphere were amazing and the food was over the top.
The one downside is that the bathrooms are not handicap accessible and part of the restaurant...
Read moreCame here today with my friend to celebrate his 21st, and let’s just say… the experience didn’t live up to the hype. From the jump, it was off. The place was nearly empty—literally only two other tables sat—but we still weren’t allowed to sit where we asked. As someone who’s worked in the food industry, I get how server sections work, but come on… it wouldn’t have killed our server to walk a few extra steps. The lack of effort was just annoying.
Then came the drink situation. My friend was excited—it’s his 21st birthday, his first legal drink. But because his ID isn’t horizontal yet (which, duh, it wouldn’t be on the day he turns 21), the server flat-out refused to serve him. We explained it was his birthday, and instead of even acknowledging that, she stayed cold and dismissive. Like… no “happy birthday,” no empathy, just attitude.
I ended up pulling her aside and asking to speak to a manager. She claimed she talked to him and they were going to make an “exception.” An exception for someone who’s literally of legal age. Please. But then—then—as he ordered his drink, she had the nerve to say, “I just hope nothing bad happens.” Excuse me? What was the reason?! Completely unnecessary and just plain rude.
Now let’s talk food. Mid. Just mid. My friend’s steak came out undercooked, and while they did fix it after we said something, it shouldn’t have needed a redo. The fries? Soggy and sad. (There’s a video attached because words just don’t do them justice.) If we’re dropping money on a steak, at least make it worth it.
At the very end, they did bring out a complimentary slice of cake, which was a nice gesture—but honestly, that doesn’t erase the string of poor service leading up to it.
This spot had great reviews, so my expectations were high… but if we’re keeping it real, this place is a solid 3 out...
