My experience with this store is bittersweet. The furniture we received for our apartment is beautiful…I have no problems with the quality of what we purchased. I also would like to recognize managers Sean and Vinnie at both the Whitehall and Easton locations for helping rectify the issues with our experience. The qualm that I have with our experience is the poor sales staff. My fiancé and I are renting our first apartment, and our sales person Lynn was fully aware of this when we went in to shop. We were in need of ALL of our furniture. We feel strongly that we were taken advantage of by the staff member that made commission off our order. We went in with specific measurements of our space, knowing we had a narrow staircase and a tricky hallway to navigate large furniture. We shared the measurements and concerns with Lynn, who assured us that the sectional they showed us would fit because it comes apart upon delivery. Despite our hesitations, we had no reason to distrust that information…it would certainly fit if it came disassembled. The couch and delivery for it added almost $1,000 to our bill, which Lynn benefitted from. Upon delivery day, the sectional in fact did NOT fit, the delivery men tore a hole in the bottom (not their fault…the hall was simply not big enough), and they had to take it back to the store. We were forced to return and exchange it, and Vinnie was wonderful in assisting us with a new piece of furniture that suited our needs and fits beautifully in our space. I found it disheartening that the sales staff took advantage of us, but was grateful for management’s help. They informed us that they would not have recommended that sectional if they had been helping us, so I suggest asking a non-commissioned staff member to double check all of your purchases. We also found it uncomfortable while we were checking out that Lynn made more than one off-handed racist remarks against black and Hispanic communities, commenting on how they’re always the ones blasting obnoxious music in their cars and how they’re always the ones on television on court shows with “petty stupid problems.” Despite my fiancé and I not being a part of those demographics, I have family members that are half-black and half-Hispanic and found it extremely offensive. Stating that one is not a racist before making racist comments does not make the comment appropriate. Terrible experience! We had our furniture for a little over a year and our loveseat ripped at the seam. I called them because I purchased the 5 year extended warranty. They asked me what happen and I told them it just ripped and I have no idea why as it barely gets sat on. They said the warranty does not cover normal wear and tear. How is this normal wear and tear after 1 year?! They said if I told them my dog did it they would cover it under accidental warranty. This is a manufacturing defeat and they will not assist in getting this fixed and have been rude to me and unresponsive. Spend more $ and go to a reputable place like Ashley Home Stores or RayMour and Flannigan who are professional, polite and understanding and stand for their customers. From start to finish our experience was very pleasant! We worked with Pam and found a great couch, unfortunately it ended up being too big for our house. She assured us that they get new products in weekly to check back. So we did! We ended up finding another one we liked. She was super friendly and patient. She gave us our space to talk. Nadia actually rang up our order, she was funny and personable. We actually had a great surprise because they called and said they were able to deliver a day earlier!
