My first and last stop for all things electronic. I remember living at 390 Cabot St in Beverly as a kid and looking out my window over at Marconi Radio every night after the street lights came on. The illumination of light inside the store and the chain of customers made this young street kid fall in love with the movie Battires Not Included. Every day walking home from Washington Beetle Middle School I'd walk on Marconi's side just so I could look thru the window at all the cool gadgets and gizmos Mr. Marconi had. He was the man you went to when you need something fixed once and for good. Now his son leads the way and even to this day driving home I'll go Rantoul just with the hopes of catching that red light at the tracks where 390 Cabot and Marconi Radio are both within the same eye ball. It's all about living in the moment. Thank you Mr Marconi for always being there for my family and most importantly...my mom. Your shop is where my family got our first pagers and then cellphones. It's where I'll start bringing my son next year. Highly recommend as a first stop shop. Experience the magic for yourself...
Read moreA WOW story from my mom:
I reached out Tony for advice on my 96-year-old mother’s broken electric scooter — this is her only way to be mobile and it wasn’t working. I didn’t know where to turn but had had good experiences with Marconi Radio in the past and other friends in Beverly reminded me of them. I called just for some idea of who even to call. Tony said he was willing to go over and check it out (she’s home bound and we had no way to transport the scooter). His professionalism, kindness, care and respect for my mom, follow through/follow up and expertise left us with a functional scooter and deep gratitude for working with someone who cares for the person behind the job. He’s also clearly talented because this is not the advertised area of expertise. We were just so impressed and grateful. Honestly, I’m choking up thinking about it. It was a “hope for humanity” kind of experience working...
Read moreI’ve lived in the area for over 60 years and have never stepped inside this shop. Until last week! Just before Thanksgiving , it became clear that I needed to replace the battery on my iPhone 6S plus and dreaded the thought of traveling to the Apple Store in Lynnfield or using the Geek Squad service. I was sure it was going to be a problem since my phone is so old. I was led, then, to Marconi Radio! Best decision I ever made. The first thing I noticed was how clean and organized the store was! Then, I met Tony, the owner, and he stopped what he was doing, found a new battery right away, and installed it, all with in 15 minutes of being here! By the time I checked out, I found I had such a good experience, I just wanted to hang around there! The cost? More than fair. Although I don’t want any other issues popping up, if they do, I know where I’m going! ...
