We LOVED our stay at the Cabot Lodge! Super tiny, cozy & quaint boutique hotel! Located right on the Main Street in Beverly, you are at a walkable distance to places to dine, shops and coffee shops. This place was really unique & had charm & isn’t your average cookie cutter hotel- which we loved it for this! We had a girls trip to Salem & didn’t want to pay the expensive hotels in Salem & found this gem! Only 10 minute drive from Salem.
Pros: beautiful hotel with a boutique charm! Funky decor and colors! parking lot RIGHT behind the hotel with super cheap parking. It was $.50 per hour & free after 8 PM! Very modern & tech friendly! No one to deal with at the front desk & everything is sent to your phone! We got a digital key on our phone to access the front door & room. We loved the easy contactless experience & felt like we had the place to ourselves. very clean! The entire hotel was spotless clean. Clean lobby, lounge area & rooms were clean. We loved our tiny cozy room. We knew before booking that these aren’t your average big hotel room- which is fine, we just needed a night to crash while visiting Salem. If you are looking for a big hotel room, this isn’t the spot for you. If you want a clean hotel, with charm, and just a place to crash- it’s perfect for you! the entire property was quiet - we felt like we had the place to ourselves. They have a cute lounge area with coffee, tea and water with couches to relax on.
things to note: if you have a large group of people (perhaps a big family) the room will be to tiny for you. The room was fine for two of us. the room was modern, clean & charming. There was a cozy queen bed by the window and a ladder to climb up to the loft bed. I felt like a kid at camp with the bunk bed vibes. the bathroom isn’t too big but was doable! The bathroom doesn’t really have a “proper door” but rather frosted glass that closes. Make sure you are comfortable with the person you are staying with because it isn’t super private. 😅 BUT they do have a private bathroom by the lounge if you want a more private bathroom experience.
We loved our stay at the Cabot & would totally return next time in the area. It was really charming & peaceful & provided a clean, safe & cozy place to sleep. We didn’t mind the small...
Read moreI stayed at The Cabot Lodge this January. It was awful and I honestly can’t really believe the “great” reviews that appear. Hmmmm. The new owner Tony recently offered me over $900. (A full refund) to take down my 1 star review I wrote on Yelp. This move is reflective of how some people should not be in the hospitality business, the treatment I received was absolutely stunningly horrific. I was quoted $118 a night, then charged so much more, I am poor and was horrified. I spoke with Tony and he showed me an even tinier (is it possible?!) room for much more money! But “doctors” stay there Tony told me as if that is a selling point! The room was cold and “locked,” me and other guests were freezing and wear our winter coats indoors. The bath towel had yellow staining and was crunchy, not soft. Flat sheet no fitted sheet bunched up and traveled up each night. The water pressure in the shower didn’t even rinse the soap off! It was the lowest pressure I e ever encountered in a hotel! There is more..no way to contact anyone when I accidentally locked myself out of my room. (My hands were so cold.)It took over an hour, a fire engine and police to get a response, then someone showed up 45 minutes later with an extra key. It was embarrassing and awful. There was a paper with a phone number that I repeatedly Called but no one picked up. Is this a way to treat your “guests?” It was bizarre. The worst thing was Tony’s attitude towards my situation on the telephone. He acted entitled, accused me of lying and belittled me saying something about my ex-husband. Clearly Tony had time to google or ask around about me. Creepy! I did not take my Yelp review down because I want reviews to be honest and based in facts when go to a restaurant or stay in a hotel. Tony should refund me the money because it was a really awful experience at The Cabot Lodge. (And for his awful treatment of a guest…me!) Sorry for the length and thanks...
Read moreWe stayed in the king room at this microhotel, and we truly enjoyed our stay. Since the lodge just opened, everything is new, exceptionally clean and the bed was very comfortable. The room isn’t large but it’s definitely enough space for 2 people with plenty of room for luggage too. Along with the king bed, the room had a decent sized flat screen TV, large waterfall shower, reading light attached to the wall by the bed, nightstand, hair dryer, hooks/hangers and even a noise canceling machine but we didn’t need it since the street was quiet on a Tuesday night.
There’s a common area with a couch, large TV and water machine (cold, sparkly and hot) with a selection of teas. Coffee is available after 7am too. The front desk staff has limited hours but you can always contact the owner 24/7 with any issues.
Parking isn’t free but two public lots are right behind the lodge and from 8am-8pm it’s just $.75 for 3 hours (minimum) and then free overnight. We only paid $1.50 total for parking during our one night stay, and the back door to the lodge is adjacent to one of the public lots so it was easy to park and take our bags in and out.
I’d give five stars if the lodge had a Keurig coffee machine in the common area because many guests have to check out before 7am so it would be terrific to have coffee before then since not everyone likes hot tea. I was up around 6am with a few other guests so I know it would definitely be useful to have. There is a coffee shop next door and a cafe across the street but I’m not sure when they open. Hopefully with the lodge being new, the owner may consider adding a Keurig in the near future though so guests won’t have to leave the lodge to get their early morning coffee fix. :) Otherwise great stay, especially if you’re looking to visit Salem because it’s only a quick 8 minute drive...
