03/12/2022 4:30ish My wife and I had the worst experience ever in this store, their front end people need serious training, consider this a formal complaint: we went through the checkout stand #20, the cashier did not greet us at all, she had the nastiest look on her face the entire time, never said hello or thank you or anything but that was not the worst of it. The bagger didn’t seem to care at all how he packed the groceries. I was paying attention to the cashier and was quite angry when I got home to unpack the groceries. They were packed so poorly it’s a wonder our fruit and breakable items weren’t damaged. The bagger actually piled heavy cans and a big jar of pickles on top of a bag of apples and he did a similar thing to our grapes. The worst was when he packed or I should say JAMMED a box of breakable taco shells into an already full bag and under that, four candy bars that were placed directly on top of a package of chicken. We had to wipe off the candy bars! That was the worst of it. I think a trained monkey would have done...
Read moreMarket Basket at bidd crossing is the mother of all grocery stores and a little like filene's basement on sale day. actually, a lot like. love this place! great prices, great selection in the normal course, (fairly... ish) well stocked throughout these trying times (although not even MB has found the magic on cat food supply and the house panthers are not pleased.)
the produce is awesome! and you can find some damn odd and ugly specimens in the produce bins that you just don't see anywhere else. (lookin at you, celeriac). not saying i would ever wanna eat any of these things, whatever they are, but they are wondrously awful to look at. and they're available! it's my favorite aisle! ¯(ツ)/¯
on the down side, like filene's basement, the crowds are both the challenge and the entertainment (if you can find the humor, and never attempt mb w/o humor). if you gotta stretch your grocery budget, and you gotta have bona fide REAL GREEK OO too, this is the place! sharpen your elbows...
Read moreI adore Market Basket for a number of reasons, and this store follows that trend. I love their wide range of items, especially the vast produce section. I take advantage of their delicious and amazing selection of ready to go items. The fruit is incredibly fresh and the shelves are stocked - and if they’re not, a kind staff member will gladly assist. The prices are fantastic too. The only reason for the loss of a star is an opportunity that seems to bedevil all Market Baskets, but is especially acute here - allocation of checkers. There is frequently only one express line open, and it is impossible to pick up a gallon of milk and some bananas in under 15 minutes (especially with small children). If they would open 3 (or even 2) express checkouts, this place would be perfect.
I’m editing this review to five stars, as each of my last four visits has found a sufficient number of express lanes available and much shorter lines. Thanks for listening...
