This review comes after 3 different visits to this same restaurant. Each one of our visits has been terrible to say the least. This last visit is the reason for this poor rating review which comes on April 27, 2025!
I entered the restaurant around 2:35 pm. I approached the desk where two employees never once looked up to greet me or even acknowledge me. After standing there for about 3 minutes, the man said he would be right with me. No hello or eye contact was made. FINALLY he said it would be 5-10 minutes as he needed to clean off a table. We finally made it to a table where we sat there for several more minutes before Lindsay (waitress) made it over to say she would be with us shortly. Lindsay sat down 2 waters (which tasted like sewer water) and left again. By the time she finally makes it back to our table and we order our drinks and food it's about 2:57. She brings my husband his beer and forgets my Pepsi. Our appetizer shows up and still no Pepsi. I had to ask again for my drink. She shows up a few minutes later with my drink.
We ordered off the lunch menu orange chicken, rice, soup and salad for us to split. Our chicken and rice show up, however no soup or salad! Our food came out lukewarm at best, and the chicken was uncooked and rubbery.
I had requested a refill of Pepsi. This is where she picks up my glass with her dirty fingers on the inside. She sets the same glass back down as my straw had lipstick. YOU DON'T HANDLE SOMEONE'S GLASS WITH YOUR FINGERS ON THE INSIDE AND EXPECT SOMEONE DRINK FROM THAT SAME GLASS! Disgusting!!
When we left most of our meal as the food was not edible and now my patience is gone too. Our other two previous visits were just as bad. Poor service and shitty food. We made sure she knew why we didn't tip her. She charges us for food we didn't get and the food we did get was terrible. So the money you over charged us can be your tip! We usually give 25-30% tips when we go out.
Never ever again will...
Read moreOn September 18, 2021, after a very long and arduous day of moving house, I was treating my daughter and son-in-law to a meal at KOBE in Biddeford, Maine. We arrived at the time of our reservation and the gentleman was leading us to our seats on the hibachi side of the restaurant when my daughter slipped and fell, hard, on the cement floor. Both her hand/wrist and knee were intensely hurt. She says she landed in something sticky on the floor. Two of the waitstaff were extremely solicitous of her, helped her up and lead her back to the entrance and sat her down. They went to get ice for her hand/wrist. She was in tears it hurt so much. Before the ice got there a woman came over (I am guessing it may have been the manager?) and rudely said: “Are you ok? The floor is slippery we have signs everywhere you should have seen them.” We were astounded. First of all, her complete lack of interest in my daughter’s obvious pain was quite amazing. Secondly, there were NO signs on the route from the front door to the hibachi area where we were being lead. There were signs (2) on the other side of the restaurant where the regular tables and bar was. After that statement, she turned and left. The waitstaff brought ice and helped us to a regular table in the quieter area of the restaurant. Had she been able to walk comfortably at that moment, we would have left. However, she needed to sit for a while because of the pain in her knee and hand/wrist. The ice did help a bit. It was late, we were hungry, so we proceeded to have a meal. After spending $188 (w/tip) at this restaurant and never hearing another word from the manager, (not a check-in to see how my daughter was doing, not anything except from the original young man who was leading us to our table, who asked as we were leaving if she was ok,) we will never patronize KOBE again. That’s our choice. I would hope your choice would be to let your manager in Biddeford know that her behavior...
Read moreGiving 2 stars, but being generous as our server was very kind and patient and worked hard to make sure we had what we needed even on a very busy Saturday night. Tonight my husband, our 2 year old son, my mother in law, and myself went here for the first time. We have heard great things and everyone raves about it, so we figured we would try it. We ordered a chicken hibachi dish, a chicken and steak hibachi dish, and a chicken and brocolli dinner. All came with a salad, rice, and soup. We were all very displeased with our meals. The soup starter tasted and smelled like hot dog water but it was given a try and we thought maybe it just wasn't our taste. When we got our main dish, all were barely warm and not very good. My chicken was slightly undercooked but I ate around it. The chicken in the chicken and brocolli dish was gummy, chewy, and slimy, and also tasted like very low quality chicken as if it were leftover bits of chicken used for other dishes. The rice also had that hot dog water flavor, but we dealt with it and just ate what we could bear because of the high price we didn't want to waste. Since we've been home, we have spent the night sick to our stomachs, puking, and all have terrible gas, and diarrhea. Luckily our 2 year old only ate brocolli, a bit of the soup, and some apple juice, so he did not get an upset stomach. Aside from the food, there was a server that sticks out in my mind because he made multiple passes by our table and had the most pungent body oder I have ever smelled, which was unappetizing while trying to eat. The bathrooms were in terrible condition, toilet paper everywhere, wet slippery floors, and urine all over the seats like they had not been cleaned in a while. We had an $80+ bill for our meals and we just wanted to pay and get out of there. We did however make sure our server was tipped generously as she was the only positive part of our visit. We will not be...
