During my recent stay at # 032- During my recent stay at 032- Lakefront Village Escape (Simmons Rd), I found its location undeniably advantageous, offering convenient access to nearby access to the village, lake, and breathtaking views. This, however, was a highlight of an otherwise challenging experience. Regrettably, the property itself seemed in need of significant attention and maintenance. Several essential amenities, including the dishwasher, ice maker/leaking fridge, trash compactor, gas range (only 2 of 5 ranges worked), fireplace in the upper unit not functioning (requiring wood supplied by maintenance), and heater, were not functioning properly during my stay. Additionally, there was a continuous issue with the running toilet, which added to the discomfort. What compounded these inconveniences was the level of customer service encountered. The response to our concerns, particularly from the front desk, lacked the empathy and professionalism one would expect. The staff's approach felt dismissive, which did not align with the hospitality standards that ensure a welcoming and comfortable stay for guests. While I recognize the potential of lakefront property due to its stellar location, my experience underscores a pressing need for property maintenance and customer service improvements. Read moreAfter reserving a property through vrbo, we arrived at the management office with a "Oh by the way, the home does not have Air Conditioning." Not listed on the homes listing and it was mid summer. Ants were out of control in the kitchen. One of our only mornings there we couldnt cook because of an electrical outage and breaker box was inaccessible in garage. 2-3 hours out. Home was beautiful but the floors were disgusting. Our feet were black by the end of the day. Biggest issue was that our kids (ages 3, 4, 6 and 8) were exploring the home and found and opened a box containing cocaine paraphernalia in the master bedroom closet. Thank God we were present and they had just then opened the box, but with the fentanyl crisis right now and drugs being laced, we are incredibly greatful to God that our kids had been protected. We had to call the police to have it disposed of and file a police report. Our children's lives were put in danger from this and it ruined our stay which was only 2 days. We requested reimbursement due to this. Management company offered a $200 credit towards our next stay in a property managed by Meredith Lodging which we declined and requested a minimum of 50% refund. They deposited what equated to 20% unannounced after over a week of not returning any of our phone calls. On our arrival the water system was shut down and the internet didn’t work, but the main reason I’ll strongly advise against this place is the same day of our check out I realized I forgot my BRAND NEW GoPro 11 at the cabin (still in it’s original packaging). I called as soon as I arrived home to let them know and figure out how to get it back. Unfortunately after calling and emailing them EVERYDAY for over a week, they told me my camara was NOT found in the cabin. They NEVER followed up with me by email or by phone calls, I’ve been calling daily trying to speak to the manager to figure this out, but they keep ditching me and promising a call back which never arrives.
