The newest Rouse's Market on the MS Coast. Just east of the intersection of Pass Road and Popp's Ferry in the expanded and totally renovated space that once was a Winn-Dixie. Their focus is on FOOD and I do not think there is anything they don't have! They have an 9rder-to-go Stir-Fry station, a huge deli with dozens of offerings including regional favorites-hot or cold, an impressive self-service salad/food bar to make/take. There is an incredible array of fresh produce, fresh meats and seafood, with a butcher on hand to provide any custom cut you want! There is chicken, turkey, pork, lamb, beef, alligator and more--fresh or frozen--whatever you might want, they likely have it! Every aisle with its variety of grocery offerings is just as impressive with the shelves organized immaculately, pricing easily visible and employees dedicated to keeping it that way from open to close! You will be "seen," spoken to first in a welcoming greeting or an offer to help locate items. No question they put quality and customer service first. No self-checkout lanes here and at the first sign of a line forming, more cashiers to keep delays to a minimum. Cashiers speak first, too! and it's not just a barely audible "grunt," and they smile and seem happy to be there working, and they they are convincingly sincere they want you, the customer, to be satisfied and glad you shopped there! If there is a rare slight delay in your check-out, it's not a shortage of cashiers but most likely because they can carry on a conversation, or listen to whatever you might have to say with sincere interest, all the while efficiently doing what they do. The store is spotlessly clean, you will feel safe inside or out, and there is resurfaced and well lit parking. You may hear or read about "pricing," but folks, it takes more money to offer the quality, customer service, variety, security, cleanliness, and be staffed by friendly employees. This is the "gold standard" for food markets. Their weekly specials and sales overlap on Wednesdays, and if one is willing to do a little "homework" using the Rouses app or their website, and making your menus match their weekly specials, your total bill can meet or even beat other national chain groceries on the Coast! If at times it does take more dollars, the laignappe of just having a store like this and its employees is well worth it....
Read moreI wanted to share some feedback about my experiences at the new Rouses on Pass Rd. and Popps Ferry in Biloxi. I’ve been a regular customer at the Gulfport Rouses on Pass Rd. for quite some time and have always enjoyed shopping there — it consistently left me feeling better after each visit.
However, my experiences at the Biloxi location have been different. Despite giving it several chances since it opened, I often leave feeling worse than when I arrived. While most of the staff are pleasant and helpful, I’ve encountered some who are not particularly friendly, which can make the shopping experience uncomfortable.
For example, just this week I picked up a salad from the salad bar for the first time and was disappointed. A staff member stood uncomfortably close while I was assembling my salad, which made the experience awkward. Additionally, the condiment cup lid available didn’t fit properly and could not use the salad dressing available. So I went to the area where you could get condiments for breakfast, lunches or so to go; salt, pepper, ketchup and alike.
They had cocktail sauce and Tatar sauce in the bins with everything else so I took 2 of each. and when I checked out I was charged for the Tatar sauce. I paid for one but I think this is grossly misleading putting all condiment together that are free but one that you have to pay for and there is NO PRICE LISTED. I
I wanted to bring this to your attention because I know Rouses is capable of providing a great shopping experience, and I hope these issues can be addressed to make the Biloxi store as welcoming and enjoyable as the Gulfport location.
Thank you for your time and...
Read moreAs someone from Virginia, I have to say I’m a little envious that we don’t have Rouses Market back home. If we did, I’d be there every single day! This place is incredible—the fresh food is top-notch and surprisingly affordable. Their meat selection is outstanding, from seafood to pork, beef, and chicken—all of it is incredibly fresh and high-quality.
During my visit, I tried their sushi, cookies, and a chicken sandwich, and everything was absolutely delicious. I was tempted to grab one of their seafood boil bags, but it was too late in the evening for me to enjoy seafood. Next time, it’s at the top of my list!
Rouses is definitely the place to go when you’re hungry and want something fresh, light, and satisfying. You can tell everything is made with such care and quality ingredients.
The facility itself is beautiful—it feels brand new, sparkling clean, and so well-maintained. Even the aisles feel like you’re strolling through a park. Whether you’re shopping for groceries or grabbing a bite, this place is an experience in itself. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re lucky enough to...
