My platonic friend from Auburn University met through the Auburn University student gospel chour director became a coach and often brought her students here for competitions sometimes staying at my place much less expensive if only personal not parental duties. I had to drive to Auburn University campus in Montgomery where she attended to go to doctor for new state of Alabama job I thought very weird 100 miles away with urine on ice in huge cooler demanded collected over weekend. Then rigorous testing and heart monitors and pregnancy tests they charged me for but I called to have charges removed from me personally and back to the state of Alabama insurance board because they decided to do more than planned in my testing. I was supposed to have an exit group of tests based on all the chemicals we work with but that never happened when a hearing was scheduled after returning from California vacation staying with other platonic friends and shopping. It turned out a disaster. You have to sign a $1 million dollar insurance note if traveling in your own personal vehicle on job trips but that became my problem not theirs too. And car insurance is mandatory. When I got arrested in 2015 outside the job attempting to handle business they towed my car and demanded insurance proof. At my hearing forced to drive my own vehicle I reminded them and ADEM personnel but it went ignored and deleted so long they claimed all attorneys for my paid services from them had also retired including who had granted me absence from previous job 7 years earlier. I felt like the Bible study the man asks for 1 thing but gets something else calling him something else then told had to go 7 more years to get something and ends alone no better than before hopefully at least more than miserable and no...
Read moreLong post but important!! We were recently allowed to use the meeting room at the Crossplex for a Birmingham Police Officer’s repast. The room is absolutely beautiful! The kitchen area was clean, the carpet was nice and there were plenty of comfortable chairs and tables. All of the workers were very friendly and accommodating. We were provided a list of caterers that we were not familiar with to choose from and through a friend we was able to make contact with “Kim” from Yellow Bicycle Catering It was a holiday weekend and last minute booking so there wasn’t much time to shop around. All went well until the day of the event when her staff set up the chafing dishes that were tarnished and had fingerprints all over them. They literally looked filthy. The serving utensils and each and every beverage container should have been thrown out years ago. They were scratched up and dingy. One lid didn’t fit properly and was just placed on top of the container. The lid on one water pitcher was so dirty that I refused to allow them to use it. In the community where I am from the consensus is if it looks dirty on the outside we probably wouldn’t eat what is on inside. So I hid the lids to every chafing dish on the floor under the table before the family arrived. The ONLY saving grace is that people seemed to enjoy the good. But for the price that is charged by the caterers ALL THINGS should be...
Read moreOverall a nice place to come and hang out. Would give 5 stars but I was accosted by a disrespectful security guard who demanded I leave the property despite it being publicly owned by the city and he threatened to put me in cuffs. I asked him if he was a cop after that and he did not confirm nor deny it. I found out later this guy wasn't a cop and when I called the actual police to ask if I was ok to hang out behind the building and anywhere on the grounds, the officer assured me I was right. The power-mad rent-a-cop also said he had me on camera... Like doing what dude? Practicing dribbling my basketball and jogging on public property in publicly accessable areas? Its the guy in the black sedan, I think Impala. Somebody needs to tell this guy that Crossplex is a public park and he can't threaten people while lowkey pretending to be a cop. I left without arguing too much just to keep the peace, but I researched it better and when I knew I was correct I called the actual cops for confirmation. I should have held my ground and called them myself right there. Totally unprofessional behavior by this mall cop saying he'll put a law abiding citizen in handcuffs.
Bottom line: if this guy pulls up and tells you to leave, just stay there and call the west precinct. They'll send somebody right over to tell the guy to...
