UAB School of Nursing — Local services in Birmingham

Coming from out-of-state, I attended UAB from 2019-2025. I completed my BSN from UAB SON in 2023, and it was invaluable to my current success. After my BSN, I worked full time at UAB Hospital as an RN, and due to this my MSN tuition was fully paid for. This led to me having less financial strain and very little student debt after my recent graduation from UAB's PMHNP program. Overall, my time at UAB was incredible and is something that I will never forget. The nursing instructors are top notch and were helpful. Yes, the program is sometimes more rigorous than other nursing programs, but they adequately prepare you for most situations in the real world. The students were some of the best and most interesting individuals I have ever met. I even met my amazing wife here at UAB in freshman year, and she graduated with a BS in BMD. This school is truly where magic happens and where memories are made. I would recommend UAB and the SON to anyone...

Update: I completed my MSN from UAB and I do feel like they do a good job of preparing their students to pass boards. Much of the information past that is necessary to learn on-the-job after graduation. I really enjoyed my university and the amenities they offer to their students. The diversity of the campus is probably the best you are going to get in-state and was something I really appreciated from my undergraduate and graduate experience.
