Lots of things, no TONS of things, one of the largest antique malls Iâve been in, booths were stacked with stuff, but nothing I couldnât live without. Pricing: I picked up several things and never thought to myself âthatâs a good dealâ thought more along the lines of âman I think thatâs higher than retailâ and no, Iâm not referring to vintage items that obviously carry a higher value and are allowed to be priced higher than retail; Iâm talking about stuff I can find elsewhere in town right now. They have a sweet cat lounging around, that was a perk for me. Anyways, if youâre just looking to spend money on old stuff and NOT looking to find good deals, then you may love this place as it could potentially lead to hours of entertainment. There were a lot of staff, the lady I spoke to was very nice. I was not acknowledged by any of the males, but my husband was several times, which is too bad because I have a wallet too. One man offered him a âgood dealâ on some overpriced metal signs.. (we sort of ventured off on our own as itâs a huge place) so maybe if youâre in a mood to haggle you could talk them down on some things. All in all itâs not a bad place, I just donât have a reason to...
Read moreLoved Birds Eye Treasures, especially the two sisters/owners, who are personal friends. Was anxious about the change to Red Beardâs Treasures. Very impressed with Eric, the new owner, and Cash, his right hand man. From the very beginning, they made some amazing changes to the front rooms with the creation of new peg board booth layouts with a variety of floor and wall space, creating customer-friendly traffic flow, and significant publicity/promotions. It still has the charm of nostalgia with wonderful antiques and vintage treasures. Now adding a variety of unique homemade craft items as well as keeping traditional home decor and seasonal gifts. Something for everyone, especially men who might have had to be dragged in a mall with their significant others.
With new rooms opening up with even larger booth sizes for added furniture items, keep checking back for great values, one-of-a-kind gifts and collectibles, and evolving home decor styles. Check it out. If you see what you want, buy it. Pretty fast turnover of...
Read moreWhenever Iâm ready to part with comic booksâno charge, just a desire to support the communityâI seek out small businesses that deserve the boost. Red Beardâs is exactly that kind of place: offbeat, welcoming, and brimming with the kind of character you canât fake.
During my most recent visit, I brought along a stack of comics and my mom, who ended up scoring a fantastic vegan cookbook for under $4. (She was thrilledâitâs already in heavy rotation at home.)
One find that truly caught my eye was a Cambodian currency note from the pre-Khmer Rouge eraâan eerie, tangible reminder of a time before the regime tried to erase not only money but nearly every trace of normal life. Tragically poetic, and yes, someone else had already claimed itâbut moments like that are what make Red Beardâs unforgettable. Youâre not just browsingâyouâre time-traveling, soul-searching, and supporting...
