Well where do I begin? Does taco have any health standards left? As far as the health department standards? Employees with long hair and bear are required by the state to wear a net Here’s the specific regulation for Oklahoma state regarding hair and beard standards in food establishments:
Oklahoma Administrative Code – Hair & Beard Restraints
Under Okla. Admin. Code § 310:257-3-20, food employees are required to wear hair restraints—such as hats, hair coverings or nets—beard restraints, and clothing that covers body hair, designed and worn to effectively keep their hair (including facial hair) from contacting exposed food; clean equipment, utensils, linens; and unwrapped single-service or single-use items.
Exception: This requirement does not apply to food employees with minimal risk of contamination—e.g., those who only serve beverages, wrapped or packaged foods, hostesses, or wait staff, so long as they present minimal contamination risk. Summary Table
Staff Role Hair Restraint Required? Beard Restraint Required?
Actual food handlers (prep line, cooks, wash staff, etc.) Yes—hair nets, hats, etc. Yes—beard nets or equivalent Servers, hosts, counter staff only serving packaged items/beverages No—if negligible contamination risk No—same exemption applies.
But then if that wasn't enough, as I wait for my food what do I see? Mister "Eagle Toes" a gentleman working the register wearing sandals showing his nasty feet. What is wrong with whoever manages this restaurant? Even in the handbook of taco bueno I found that there is no policy to allow employees to work with open shoes. The gentleman appears to be sick or something, if that is the case then I am sorry but I don't know how this is an excuse for cleanliness and the overall health of those who pay to come and eat here. I took no pictures out of respect for the people involved but...
Read more5/6/23 My family and I went there for lunch at noon today. It was 91 degrees outside and either the ac was broken or turned off to this place because it was hotter inside than it was outside. The restaurant was filthy. Looked like no one had bothered to clean it the night before as the floors had food under the tables and dried spilled pop all over, the beverage station was a mess and the "salsa bar" looked like everything had been there for days and was un-refrigerated. The teenager who took our order must have been new as he had to keep asking questions from his supervisor (who looked and talked like George Carlin after a really bad night of doing acid). There was one other small family there other than ourselves, so there was no reason the dining room should have been left in that terrible condition. We've been to this restaurant several times over the past 20 years, but clearly management has changed for the worse and the place has gone downhill drastically. While I'm writing this, we're dealing with an awful belly ache and diarrhea from the nasty food. Today was the last time we'll set foot in this particular Taco Bueno. I highly recommend you...
Read moreI swear if I could give this place 0 stars I would. A few months ago, I said I would never frequent this Bueno after waiting 45 minutes in the drive thru to order and receive my order. I decided to give them another try last night.
I ordered a taco salad. The employee who took my order wasn't sure if they had any shells (at 7PM on a Sunday - they don't close until 10). He verified they did, so I proceeded with the taco salad order. When I got to the window, I was informed there were NO taco salad shells, and I was asked if chips would be okay. I replied yes. When I got home with my taco salad, there were no chips. It was just the salad. I would have ordered something else if I had known this was going to be an issue.
This isn't their first screw up of an order, but it was indeed the worst. I KNEW better than to give them another try, and I paid the price. I will not use this Bueno again.
Seriously...whoever is the owner of this Bueno, you've got some serious training issues or need to clean house. I've lived in Bixby for 2 years, and it has been bad the entire time I have lived here. The complacency is...
