Santa Barbara Botanica — Local services in Bladensburg

I have been going to this Botanica for months, but most recently I had the strangest feeling in my gut before arriving here. So, before I write this review I want to say it loud and clear that I was racially profiled at my most recent visit. The owner greeted me upon my arrival and asked what I needed help with, after I responded to her in Spanish (Which I speak fluently). There was a young lady who came up to me face to face as I browsed the store, and I thought that she possibly was someone else looking. Till I looked at her and saw her staring at me dead on. She was so close that for a second I thought she was going to kiss me. So I walked to another aisle, and she followed me once again and stared me down. I look at her and speak to her in Spanish “Yo no tengo ayuda (I don’t need help). She backs up, but still is staring. Another lady walks over and begins staring as well and watching me. I say the same thing to her in a more assertive tone this time, and they both disappear. Let’s break this down: #1: I am a Black male, and noticed that none of the hispanics in the store were being watched or followed. #2 I speak fluent Spanish, so I can understand everything being said. #3 I do not want to support a racist business that does not value their ALL of their customers. #4 How can you be running a spiritual store, and be racist? The foundation of most of the products/items that this store is selling derive from African spirituality. #5 Today was my last time going here, you lost a valuable customer. This store/botanica is for hispanics only! After I purchased my products, I did not receive a single thank you. The people at the register glanced at me in disgust. I will take my business elsewhere...

I went in to get a candle to connect to my ancestors and soulmate in the 5D and contact my soulmate. I was hesitant at first but knew I had to go I had difficulty saying my words. But the lady was helpful and the candle did wonders along with my own flower therapy work. White candles were awesome. Will be back for more protective and clearing tools. I had no issues working with the candles. My spirit team and the Mexican spirit team helped me out and helped me discover good insights. I only worked with what I could handle at the time. If you're not Hispanic, do not go here. They were very rude and didn't even acknowledge my presence when I walked in. I had to stand at the register and literally wait for them to get done talking before some lady finally started ringing my items up. We need a African American Botanica because they're all rude af. The energy in this place was off also, you'd think a spiritual store would feel and be welcoming....
