Great experience the first couple times I visited but then an hour before my 3rd appt the salon called to cancel my appt due to the stylist leaving sick. I had already taken time off from work, but I totally understood, stuff happens. Then I was driving in for my rescheduled appt the following week and the salon called to tell me that the stylist would be starting me 45 min late. Again, had already taken time off from work but I was already on my way so I sat and waited. Then I got the bill for the service: $170. This visit was for a 3 month gray root touch-up. No cut or style. $170 just for the color. Their website states $150 for a full color with the top stylist at the salon, so I emailed the front desk and asked why I was charged so much more than that. They let me know that they do not do root touch-ups, just full color. Okay, again, why was I charged more than what I would be charged for a full color service from their top stylist. They told me the stylist had used double the amount of color on me…Double the color…of a full color service…on a root touch-up.. Even for a full color service, my hair is only about 3in past my shoulders, not super long. The stylist had made no mention to me that she had to do a full color or that I would be charged extra for the visit.
Unfortunately 3 strikes, you’re out. I can’t justify spending $170 on just color every 3 months to also be last minute cancelled and then made to wait 45 min on the rescheduled visit. The customer service is very much lacking. It has been a month now and I still haven’t received a response to my email expressing my confusion on that pricing and asking them to cancel my...
Read moreGreat haircut and styling w Maggie, whom I have been seeing for a long time. My hair is thick with a wavy curl and not quite to my shoulders with long ish layers. I’m an active woman of 72 years and want to look my best with not too much effort. Maggie tweaks my cut with length and layering adjustments to make seasonal humidity changes work to best effect. I get a refresher on simple blow dry tips for styling my sometimes stubborn waves and cowlicks to help them bend in the right direction. I also appreciate Maggie’s knowledge and guidance on hair products. I tend to shoot-then-aim with product purchases and she gives me good information to select what works for my hair. I’ve let my hair color go naturally gray and the right products really help to make it look and feel it’s best. She also gives ideas on combining products that I have previously purchased and how to use them for the look(s) I want. Maggie says that hair twists/braids/updo’s are not her strong styling suit, although I bet she is better than she thinks; for my mother-of-the-groom wedding event she showed me how to sweep up my hair on one side with two simple long heavier decorative pins. This has been a versatile and fabulous dressier style option for me-and it STAYS IN PLACE (a near miracle with thicker hair!). She is a creative stylist with practical and effective ideas that I always appreciate. And p.s., she is a lovely person. My hair appointments are...
Read moreWhen I booked my appointment I left a comment stating I have long hair and want long layers. I explained this to the stylist and showed her pics from her instagram of the style she had done for prior clients. She said she was known for this cut. She pulled up about 3 inches of hair and asked if I was okay with losing that much and I said yes(my hair was almost down to my hips) What I left with was an uneven face frame only with no layers and about 6-7 inches less of my hair. I drove an hour and 45 minutes from my home because I thought I was going to a stylist that could give me the cut I wanted. I was obviously mistaken! I also felt rushed throughout the entire process. When she was washing my hair she literally only washed part of my scalp. To say I am disappointed is an understatement as I have avoided going to a salon because of experiences like this. Please beware that what you see online doesn’t always transfer to real life and a lot of stylists do what they want to your hair not what the client asks for. In full transparency I did tip her and did book another appointment as so many of us do even in situations like this because we don’t know how to say no or that we are not satisfied with...
