Aldi's has improved a lot since I first became aware of them about twenty years ago. My in-laws, who were farmers and who lived in a small Indiana town, loved Aldi's because the prices were so cheap. I went into a few Aldi's around Chicagoland and hated them. They smelled like rotting meat and that damned quarter thing with the carts. No way I would go in there.
Well, in the last few years, they seem to have literally cleaned up their act. Now I go in and the store doesn't stink or reek of a dead meat smell.
The produce they sell is usually a pretty good quality and the prices are pretty low. Some of the canned goods (garbonzo beans, kidney beans) which can't really be too bad anyway, are so much incredibly cheaper than say at Jewel. Read moreThis was my first time at this Aldi's location. It is set up like every other Aldi in the area. Prices are still inexpensive. The aisles are fairly full. Some items I needed were not in stock, but I bought almost everything I needed. This will not be my first Aldi of choice, it is not an easy in and out of store because of our traffic flow. It is close to Costco and shares the same parking lot.
May 2023- lots of wine choices. Fresh vegetables and seasonal fruits available. Lots of Herman products on sale! Way too much merchandise, not food filling at least three aisles. Plenty of parking, but watch the traffic, no...
