Mapleberry Pancake House and Bistro Bar — Restaurant in Carol Stream

Ended up going there with my wife, we ordered one plate and they charged us a couple dollars to share a plate?? Not to many restaurants do that at all!! We ended up sharing a plate, begrudgingly... with a side of pancakes that comes with the meal and found hair in the pancakes. Waited for a waitress to come back to tell her about the hair and waited several minutes... in the meantime my wife's half of the meal was getting cold because she enjoys eating her meal together at once. The waitress wasn't coming back to the table so I walked over to the cooking window and asked for help, the lady told me she would bring fresh pancakes out to us. Now back at my table, me and my wife were waiting to see if our bill was going to be discounted at all when they brought us the check stub? The check came and there was no discount at all??!!l It's unfortunate nowadays that you should even have to ask when you're put in this situation, but that's the world we live in. So, I did ask for a discount and when we got to the cashier I called the manager over and she said she would give us a dollar discount off essentially half the price of the cost they charge you for an extra plate for sharing a meal??!! It's still unbelievable to me to think that a place charges you for sharing a plate??!! This is essentially like saying there is a cover charge if you bring two people in to the facility LOL!! WTH??!! I proceeded to tell her everything that had happened to us and she said well the best I can do is give you another $2 off... WHAT??!! Are you kidding me??!! LOL!!! So, once we realized that this was all they were going to do for us, we just walked out... stunned at what just happened and made the decision to never...

Ask for utensils or eat with your hands. Also make sure your order is correct before leaving....I ordered an omlette with a few extra ingredients for pickup I gave them a half hour before I picked it up and the order was not ready. When it came the server said they were just waiting for my toast (so toasting bread takes more than a half hour) arriving at work I opened the double knotted bag and noticed no utensils I checked my order and it was not correct. I called the manager and she was fumbling around looking for my receipt asking why no names were on the receipt and she then said I'll call you back when I find it. Without even asking for my phone number. I asked her do you have my number she replied no????? Lucky someone found the receipt and she then said that utensils are given upon request and she owes me 2 dollars that i can pickup before 2 today or tomorrow. Here's what's running in my head they messed my order up yet they still want me to waste more time and gas to pickup 2 dollars. So it's gonna still going to cost me more for their mess. Keep the 2 dollars as those would be the last I spend...

We have visited this place several times and the service was always good, today was unfortunately horrible. We were seated upon entry and then sat for 15-20 minutes. Several waitresses walked by and took other customer's orders as my wife, kids and I sat and waited. The only person that acted like we were there was the bus boy, who brought us water and attempted to send wait staff over twice. Finally, I walked up to the waitress/hostess that originally sat us down and told her how long we had been waiting. She apologized and said she'd help out. She took out drink order but informed us because it wasn't her table that she could not take our food order. We then waited ten more minutes for our waitress to come over and take our order. She got my wife's order wrong but at this point we were just happy to have food. I'm hoping this was just a bad day because I truly like this place. The food is as good as it gets for a breakfast place. We ended up tipping the bus boy because he was working his butt off and was the only one that noticed we weren't...
