Jasper Meats — Local services in Bloomingdale

So I went to Jasper Meats on Saturday for a special #6? But we didn't realize you have to pre order for sure looking forward to going back to complete our purchase.

update as of 9/14/23 - we did get the package deal (pre order is needed) and it looks so good, I cannot wait to taste it out but trying to divest the fridge of leftovers at the moment. Well packed, in a box about 24" wide, 6" thick and about 18" in depth, it will travel well. frozen-ish, sauce too. I put the sauce in the fridge to soft thaw.

Everything is vacuum sealed so if kept frozen or in the fridge it should last a good while. By my dads clock, at least 10-15 years LOL.

Steaks look nice and marbled. Pork roast and ribs and I think chicken (memory) all look very good, I cannot wait.

We also picked up a package or two of Canadian Bacon which I intend to grill up, possibly this morning, hungry. Not sure I will slice it up or grill it as a piece....thinking a piece and then cut up into chunks-ish size. leaning heavily on the grill the whole thing side. I am a regular, local customer, usually visit weekly or every other Sat.

Went to Jasper's Meats today just before 12:30pm. The deli already had their meat packed up, although they claim to close the deli at 12:45pm. The 2 guys behind the deli told me that they dont have pastrami left...I highly doubt that. They just didnt want to open a new package of meat or work. Oh well, if they didnt want my business, they should've just said so. Usually purchase about $100 each time I go, but not today. Maybe not ever...

Deal with the ladies at the deli; they are much more pleasant. Not the guys...they hinder the growth of the business.

Jasper's raw meats are NOT good quality...lots of gristle or fragments of bone, which means their butchers do NOT know how to treat meat properly.

Today was 6 slabs for 26, I got 4 lbs of jumbo shrimp for(2lb packages with cocktail sauce) 32, 4lbs of wings for 12, 2.5lbs of Italian beef with au jou for 18, and then I got some side items like 1.5lbs of big deli pepperoni for 2.99, or Jimmy Dean sausage log for 1.99.
