You will find the hardest working RAs on campus here, and the best residents around. With being the largest residence center in the Big 10 with 1,300 students, there of course will be some of the issues that come along with that amount of people in a small space (a small city). This residence center usually has one of the highest GPAs of all center on campus. Home to the KLLC (the best living-learning center on campus), and a number of other great communities. While many good people reside in these dorms, the RA's are the end of that. They will get you in trouble no matter what, whether you did something wrong or not. They don't care about your well being or rights. I know people in just about every hall on campus, the RA's at McNutt are the worst. I would recommend anywhere else instead of McNutt, the school does not care about whether your right or wrong they just want money and if a RA says you have to pay a fine then you do no matter the proof. My son spent his freshman year in McNutt, which inspire him to leave the dorm system at IU. McNutt was perpetually dirty and horribly loud from unruly students. My son found it impossible to study in his single room (he started during Covid and everyone got singles). Moreover, my son reported that the food at McNutt is unfit for human consumption.
