IKEA — Local services in Bolingbrook

This was our very first time visiting Ikea, people always have nice things to say about it and they're usually obsessed with it so we know that we had to go to see what all the hype was about since we were in town visiting! They were exactly right the store was amazing and so were the prices, they pretty much had everything you could think of that you would need in your home and then some! We actually got lost while we were inside because there were many turns and corners and separate rooms. Once we figure it out our route in the store and found the elevator we went up to the second floor. The elevator was humongous, at one point there were about 7 people, two carts, maintenance, and a electric scooter. They did real nice on their marketing having different displays of different rooms like bedrooms, kitchens, bathrooms it was real nice to see them all displayed on the floor and the fact that it told you the total price if you wanted to do this in your home. My husband and I were really surprised at the prices that we seen in the store, there were some really great bargains that we took advantage of a lot more things that we will probably come back and purchase! The quality of the product was even better then we thought that it would be also! I didn't necessarily need hangers but they were space-saving hangers and they were only $1.87 for 10 that's really going to help out in a house with four closets. We found a piece of furniture that we wanted to purchase but we seen that there wasn't boxes of these products nearby so we just took a picture of the tag and continued on our way. Eventually we came to the warehouse part of the store which I thought was pretty cool because you could just go through and find the item that you wanted and put it in your cart! I thought that was really neat and super convenient! The restaurant was actually closed but we were able to see it and take a picture I'm pretty sure that you could order food to go but you just couldn't dine in. While we were exiting there was kind of a snack bar area I'm not exactly sure what it was called but you could order hot dogs, Pizza, ice cream cone exedra even their prices for their food was very reasonable I'm pretty sure the ice cream cone was only $1. The only negative comment that I have about the store was the fact that the shopping carts were all driving sideways and drifting it was kind of funny at the same time but they weren't the best carts for that type of store however we got our shopping done so I have no complaints here! With management experience love it 🥰 we were kinda out the door closing time employees made us feel welcome weren't upset didnt roll there eyes hurry hurry not one thime its late thses employees had a fresh face like they just startedther shift No that's customer service ,wow chill place to shop hang out relax get the feel of the furniture before you buy it lovely decor . My wife and I recently purchased a complete full sized bed frame and mattress along with sheets, comforter and assorted accessories. Purchase was made on a Wednesday and the check out we paid for a delivery and also paid extra to have the old mattress removed. We were informed that our delivery would be made that coming Saturday. On Friday evening I received an email from IKEA saying that the headboard and frame were no longer available and that I could apply for a refund. This was not acceptable because I had guests coming, and this bed was needed for their stay. The nextday, (Saturday) a van showed up with my mattress along with the supports for the bed. At that time, the driver would not take the old mattress away. He said it wasn’t his job to do. I contacted IKEA customer service and was told that somebody would be out on Monday with the rest of the bed and then they would pick up the mattress at that point. I’m at Monday the gentleman came out to pick up the old mattress, but didn’t have any part of my bed still when I contacted IKEA again, I was told that the frame was sold before the delivery could be made and that they weren’t expecting any more in for another week. I was then explained that I could either get a refund or I could pick out another frame. This was very upsetting because I had company spending the week and they were currently sleeping on the mattress on the floor. We chose another bedframe and received it days later after my company had already gone. There is so much more to the story that I left out to keep it from being too long. But after years of spending tens of thousands of dollars at this store, I have to say I am seriously considering never going back again. This was the most bungled purchase I have ever experienced. Their third-party delivery service is just as awful to get in touch with and two rectify any problems. The woman I spoke with and IKEA‘s customer service did all she could do to fix the problem but but appeared the only tools at her disposal were to tell me she was sorry and offer me a free lunch at the IKEA cafeteria.
