Richmond Comix Inc — Local services in Bon Air

my boyfriend and i decided to visit for the first time during free comic book day, when we got there it was beautiful. the store is lovely and we had a fun time trying to find a certain comic he was interested in. it took us about 30 minutes of nonstop searching to finally find it and then check out. however at the checkout i was zoned out still looking around and when we left my boyfriend told me one of the women behind the counter had the audacity to say "wow look who found something, took them long enough" to another women who was at the register. is that not an insane thing to say to about people who wanted to come and support you ? not to mention the fact that she saw we were struggling to find something instead of sitting there gossiping about how sales are up 400% but going to drop drastically the next day how about be useful and offer help ? otherwise the store was nice and the vibes were great. no clue if we will...

My daughter and I go here a few times a month. She really enjoys the kid's sections and there's always a book that she wants. They're very happy to order individual books or entire series when there is something she wants that isn't in stock. I imagine that we could get them online, but she likes to flip through the pages a bit to see if it's something that she'll like. So, Richmond Comix probably saves us a few dollars overall. The comic section is great and has a huge selection. I always find something that inexpensive that scratches the itch for me to get a comic. While not my thing, they have some gorgeous superhero figures that appear hand-painted. My daughter and I really love admiring them. The staff is very friendly and my normally very shy daughter feels comfortable asking them for book...

I visit often, I dig the store. Great selection, many variants to be had. Huge selection of trades, graphic novels and back issues. There's a whole half of the store for younger readers too, which I appreciate as a dad. What I don't care for is often times the issues are bent, as a collector I don't appreciate bent covers. And this place charges for bags and boards, even if the comic is already in one. To each business owner his own, but I don't see any other store doing it and it's just kind of a drag to know that I'm going to be asked to pay.
