Keffiyeh Cafe — Restaurant in Bon Air

We’ve been ordering from Basically Halal a couple years now, and when we heard Keffiyeh Cafe was opening right next door, we were so excited! I’ve ordered takeout to go several times so far from the Toast app, and it’s gone smoothly each time!

I’ve tried several of their iced drinks—the Lotus latte, pistachio latte, and matcha. If you’re like me and don’t like all the artificial sweetness of syrups at a lot of coffee shops these days, these are the drinks for you! The coffee is smooth, the drinks are fresh and natural and not too sweet or rich—they’re perfect!

The Dubai strawberries are delicious, and if you can’t eat all of them, they store well for a few days and make for a very nice treat!

We’re also vegetarian and have tried two vegetarian breakfast sandwich options—the tomato and zaatar and egg and cheese. The sandwiches are amazing! Generously sized and filling on nice, soft, buttery croissants! The tomato and zaatar comes with feta and is one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. The zaatar is homemade and balanced perfectly with the tomato, feta, and croissant. And the egg and cheese is the best egg and cheese you will find!

I can’t wait to try some of their cakes next!

The staff is incredibly lovely, kind, and helpful. The barista who has taken my orders is so very passionate about what he does and the food and drinks he makes.

It’s been difficult to find a GOOD spot to get coffee around the midlothian area. 7 brews is an absolute NO. Starbucks 🤮. I’ve tried every coffee shop & couldn’t find quality coffee beverages anywhere until Keffiyeh Cafe opened up. They’re right down the street from me and on my way to work so I’ve been here a bunch of times already. The drinks are consistent. They’re spot on every time! It’s exactly what you expect to get. It’s never over or underdone. 10/10 HIGHLY recommend. I have yet to try their foods, but just seeing how popular this place is, I already know the food is just as great. You get such great customer service from everyone that works there.. even if you don’t know exactly what you want, but come here to check it out because of the amazing reviews.. Even though I was really excited to try this place out, unfortunately I don’t understand all of the rave reviews. There was a ton of trash outside of the pickup window, and unclear lack of signage regarding if we could only order through the window or could open the doors and go in. We accidentally opened the doors and a girl inside literally screamed and then a guy came up and told us to go order in the window. We then proceeded to watch multiple people make the same mistake with the door (we were the only ones lucky enough to get the scream).

There were a ton of people loitering in the parking lot, blasting music from their car speakers. It was really unpleasant to eat outside so we left and sat in our car.

Also, it’s $24 for a cup of strawberries and chocolate. Which was really good, but definitely should have been max $10.
