Dragon's Den — Local services in Boone

Truly love this shop. They have a very friendly and welcoming staff and a great selection of items to choose from. So much so that it’d be difficult listing them all out; but if you like trading card games, board games, dungeons and dragons, painting, decorative bits and baubles, then this is your place. I’d like to shoutout their mini-painting selection in particular— they have lots of great brushes and a wide variety of colors to choose from that you likely won’t find anywhere else. Dragon’s Den deserves its credit for helping keep so many nerdy hobbies alive here in Boone, there really isn’t another place like it here.

I love the location of the shop but I do hope they’re able to expand their size in the coming future. It can feel a little jarring coming in on a busy day and having to squeeze past tables and walk the perimeter of the store to look through items. It’s great to see the place fully booked and having business but it’s a little overwhelming as a shopper having so little space to get around. First visit to Boone in over 20+ years. The massive expansion over that time left me shell shocked on my return. However, Dragon's Den was a wonderful gem slightly off the beaten path from the garish commercialization saturating the downtown. It's small, yet well stocked, with a varied non-digital gaming inventory. The beautiful young woman on staff at the time (Sat @ 12pm) was attentive & responsive, even when an additional 8 or 9 customers came in. She helped Everyone. Her attention to detail was remarkable as she remembered the very beginning of our conversation such that during checkout, she offered a military discount. I showed her my ID and she saved me some money. Will definitely go out of my way for patronage of their business. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The two gentlemen running the place are not only incredibly knowledgeable about their product, but also treat every customer, no matter what their experience with games, with kindness and respect and are willing to answer any questions, and even special order products for you. The shop itself is small, but covers a wide range of game products from TCGs, board games, RPGs, comics, game equipment, video games, and other knacks.

The only complaint I have, and I was tempted to give it 4 stars because of this but it's actually not the store's fault, is that they are not always stocked in all of the merchandise.
