Some tennis friends took us to this little place to eat. My beet salad was ok, and the shared pimento balls were delicious. The Mac and cheese was excellent and the wedge looked good along with the house salad and Italian sandwich. The problem was that the Italian sandwich for one in our group did not arrive until we had all finished our meals. Our friend had said never mind to the sandwich since it was so late in coming. About five minutes later, our server approached her and said she could have it for free. The server was asked by us why so late, and she finally admitted to having put that order in AFTER the others. At least she was honest about that, but a little late in the tell tell part. It was also freezing in our part of the restaurant. We chose indoors because so hot out. I wore my thick hoody totally zipped to my neck. I’m usually the hot blooded in the bunch. I did not want to make a ruckus, being a guest in the group. Besides, our waiter was very hard to catch for anything we might have needed, including filling our water glasses. She was polite. Maybe on another day the service may be better. She seemed to be serving all patrons indoors. I did “hear” that service is usually poor. That’s too bad and especially if it’s due to not enough servers at a busy hour. Eleven80 only opened in October 2017, yet it’s quickly risen through the ranks to become Boone Mall's best new restaurant. I was in the area for Memorial Day weekend and decided to check out this restaurant with a friend being that it’s fairly new. I must say that my friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Eleven80. The owners (who came to our table to check on us) and staff were incredibly kind and accommodating.

We started with Eleven80’s Fried Brussels, which essentially fried brussels sprouts tossed in special sauce and glazed with honey. It was quite tasty and very filling.

For the main course, I decided to go with the Quinoa Power Bowl accompanied by chicken. The flavor of the tahini ginger dressing complimented the richness of the quinoa. This dish was presented beautifully, and the bright colors of the different ingredients made it very appealing to the eyes and stomach. My friend, on the other hand, ordered the Tequila Shrimp and Grits. Which is shrimps sautéed in tequila cream sauce accessorized with bacon and tomatoes over warm grits. This dish yet small was perfectly executed and delicious; my friend loved it so much that she ordered a second plate 😂. It’s definitely a must try.
