We had the BEST experience today at Office Depot. My husband, kids, and I went in searching for a new desk and chair. Charles and Gideon were both so kind and helpful. Charles spent at least 30 minutes listening to/answering all of my 10 year old son’s questions. My son loves technology and computers and in his excitement looking at devices even set off the alarms twice, but Charles and Gideon were both very understanding about him. Charles was very encouraging with my son as well as knowledgeable about the products/brands that we were considering. It is incredibly difficult to find good customer service anywhere these days, and this was the best interaction we’ve had making a purchase in a long time. Read moreI dropped a business card off one week ago and called 4 days later to check on it. It had not been printed or sent out to be printed with no explanation and the employees had no idea what was going on and I was told the cards would be ready later that day, this was last Thursday. Monday morning I called and the cards were not ready and they still had no idea of what was going on and I was told they would print them that afternoon and there would be no charge for the inconvenience. Tuesday morning I went to pick them up and NO CARDS. They expected me to stand there and wait for the manager to finish checking in a truck before speaking to me so I just left. Read moreWent to OfficeDepot today to order a roll of stickers. There were two associates in the Business services area. However only one associate was available. When I informed the available associate(associate 1) of my need, she informed me that she did not know how to do it, and I would need to speak with the other associate. I then watched associate 1 struggle to print a standard email out and had to ask associate 2 (Cat) what she needed to do. Associate 2 replied "just press print". Even after receiving those very simple instructions, it still took associate 1 about 7 minutes to print an email.
My question is, why is associate 1 working in this particular area if she does not have simple background knowledge needed to assist customers in this area?
