From the very onset I developed a great deal of trust in NK&B based on the people who helped bring my renovation project to fruition. My Project Designer (and early project facilitator), Malaika, has a strong sense of style and was able to guide my selections of cabinets, flooring, and accents. She guided me through choices that were in my financial comfort zone. The new extended and widened kitchen peninsula is my dream pasta making counter; the subtle, gray-veined quartz countertops take the design to another higher level. Malaika helped me choose a floor covering that is perfect for my sunny and large multi-room kitchen space. The project management under Dean and Jason really confirmed my belief that NK&B is a reliable, competent, and timely working organization. My circumstances were such that I couldn’t be at home for most of the construction, and yet through phone and texts, I was able to stay abreast of the construction. They were terrific at keeping me informed of the ongoing status of the project. Project management selected competent sub-contractors where necessary. I am very satisfied with the cost and quality of the entire project. It helps to have a good understanding of desired outcomes and likely outlays. NK&B Project Estimator, Dave, did not low-ball the work estimate. He was thorough in his assessment of the needed work. The final walk-through punch list was completed efficiently and with great accommodation. When I returned to Boston after my extended family leave, it was like walking into a new place! I’ve lived here for thirty years but my “retirement nest” couldn’t be more beautiful. NK&B is the real deal! They might not be the biggest in Boston, but trust me, they are one of the best! Melissa Shaw at Norfolk Kitchen and Bath in Boston was an extraordinary resource. Her detailed knowledge of the cabinetry options and finishes was a huge help during our design process. She came up with smart solutions and helped me better understand how to maximize the space and functionality of our kitchen. She worked tirelessly to measure and revise the design to make sure everything was perfect. She often pulled up photos she had taken herself from the manufacturing facility to better demonstrate many of the built-in options and how they operate. Pictures can only do so much, her deep knowledge and enthusiasm for these types of details were unparalleled. She did not overwhelm us but listened to what our concerns were and needs. She was forthright in pricing and timing info which was crucial in keeping us on track. She kept in regular contact and followed up after install to make sure everything was working as she designed. This is an update as of 3/22:

My partner and I chose to remodel our kitchen with Norfolk Kitchen and Bath because we wanted to shop locally rather than go to larger places like C2G. I had read positive reviews and was confident the kitchen would look great once completed.

And honestly, the kitchen will look great when it's finished. The cabinets are high-quality, and the ones that are installed already look wonderful. It has been a bit frustrating to get this project complete due to some lapses in communication, but we are making progress!

Since my last review, the designer and other members of the store team have been much more responsive. While we are still waiting on the final panel to complete the kitchen, we were informed that it will be rushed here, and the designer is covering the cost for the delay. Given the price of the cabinets, this is a very helpful accommodation.
