A moment of true nostalgia. As a Boston native, one thing I will forever love is the food, especially the Chinese Food! Chinatown Express is one of my favorite on the go restaurants. I’ve been coming here since 2002 and though I moved out of Boston in 2005, I make sure to come get an order everytime I’m in town. Good food, good portions, and most of all, GREAT Combination plates. My go combo is the D11. Chicken Fingers, Boneless Spareribs, Beef Teriyaki, and Pork Fried Rice. This combination is a perfect balance of pork, beef, and chicken. The ribs are meaty and have a perfect sweet to salt balance. The beef teriyaki is well done and pairs well with the pork fried rice. The highlight for me is the moist, meaty chicken fingers. The meat is seasoned as well as the batter is too. The pork fried rice brings everything together as I take a scoop of rice with every bite of meat. LoL!!!! Now, if you know what’s good for you, make sure to get the Duck Sauce. One thing about the Chinese food in Boston is the Duck Sauce. It’s sweet and provides an added flavor profile to everything on the plate. Also, regardless of what you order, the duck sauce will always make it taste even better. LoL!!! If you're in the area you’ve gotta stop in and get some food from Chinatown Express. The menu has a variety of options. The lunch and dinner specials are awesome. The service is good. And the food is fresh. 20 years later and they still haven’t lost the quality goodness that I enjoy!

Update - August 2022 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ My Dad ordered from here today and the food was more like old times. The rice was fresh and the PuPu platter was great. Update - June 2022⭐️ We ordered food today and I was shocked that it was bad. The rice & egg foo young were not flavorful at all and were very dark. And the crab rangoon even tasted different. I’m so sad because this place was an old faithful for our family. So many of the Boston Chinese restaurants have changed bit for the better. Original Review ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A family favorite. We only order takeout. Everything is cooked to order except the pork fried rice. Don’t order that.

I am extremely disappointed. I was expecting noodles with my chow mein but instead I essentially got a soup. Believe it or not, the liquid was filled to the top of this bowl.

This place has been around for 30 plus years. When my mother and father were here once a month my family would order from there. This was our idea of a fancy poor man's dinner. The food was always good. 30 years ago there was a Asian woman who worked there that took the orders. The best lady in the world and her voice was popular. " welcome to Chinatown Express, may I take your order", so nostalgic ... The food is still good and the restaurant has not changed much. The only difference is that the people that run it now are a little rude and pretend not to speak English which I find rude. I thanked one of the cooks in the back and he so rudely told me "yeah yeah bye." Food is...
