Salon 3 — Local services in Boston

I called this salon to schedule an appointment multiple times! During one of my left many left voicemail messages, I requested at least a call back saying that no new clients accepted, thats what I figured due to my numerous failed attempts to contact this salon , mine u i also tried reaching out via FB messenger 2 weeks laterfinally a reply, just to say that they don’t accept on line booking, with no information moving forward on how to book? Just that they don’t! My final attempt to book was yesterday, on a Saturday we all know salons seem to be open on Saturdays. To my excitement someone finally answered the phone. I said good afternoon I would like to book an appointment, the woman replied back were book up for today, I wasn’t expecting to book the day of calling Ma’am I stated, she asked when would you like to book? I asked if at all possible for the coming Friday, she paused, just to come back to say that the beautification doesn’t accept clients that don’t have a relaxer in their hair, I replied Ma’am I don’t need a relaxer, I don’t have 4 c hair, not that 4 c hair is a bad thing, I knew where she was going with requesting my hair needed to be relaxed to achieve a pixie cut, I go on to explain my hair texture doesn’t require a relaxer to achieve the look, continue to be get interrupted while trying to explain my hair texture, with the statement I need a relaxer to come in, I tried to explain my hair texture by comparing it to Spanish women’s hair texture, or a Cape Verde decent, is the best way I thought I could explain the texture, why? If I would have said I’m Wampanoag ,Native American the people that own the land original, that in fact your shop is located on, she wouldn’t had no clue? Even though most of the street names towns in the city of Boston are spelled in my language she would have had no clue?? Example Pokanoag Trial, etc. point being this isn’t a history lesson, just trying to explain my hair texture not needing a relaxer to achieve the pixie cut. I have NEVER experienced a salon denying you a cut because you don’t have a relaxer???? Without even a consultation to see your hair texture! The appointment should have been booked, then later explained to achieve a better cut, I suggest a gentle relaxer something of that sort? Between the 5 unanswered left voicemail messages, in the not returning a future client calls, all the way back to the lack of saying how to book on social media, to telling me my hair needs to be relaxed is bad business! I really don’t care how talented you are or how big your clientele is?? The Salon bad bed side manner is a complete fail!!! I’m leaving pics of my hair texture for reference to, my hair texture not needing a relaxer!! A simple mold then sitting under a dryer is all my hair would have needed to achieve the look, in the fact that your pushing relaxers on women’s to sit in your chair left a distasteful, taste for your business etiquette , to the woman that answered the phone your rude, in for the beautician that accepts that type of salon edict Shame on you!!! Stay Humble some of these salons let their talents go to their heads, or should I say lack of talent for proper buisnwss etiquette! Stay humble don’t allow your talent to loose possible...

I’ve been coming to Sheena for over 10 years! To the person who called her angry, and said she takes her attitude out on the customers; you are lying. Lmaoooooooo, I don’t even mean to laugh; but, Sheena is one of the nicest, most accommodating stylists in Boston. I don’t even think I’ve ever seen her get mad in the shop. The sense of entitlement in these comments is beyond me. Everybody isn’t a social media stylist. Sheena runs a classy business, with old school standards. She still keeps a sign in book; it seems some of you all are looking for Booksy stylist or, studio stylist. This is, more like your forever stylist. People don’t have to take your business, just because you offer. All money isn’t good money, and it’s clear from some of the lies and people posting, you all have never even experienced Sheena. Rules are rules, if you don’t want the relaxer, because you have Native American hair, go down the Cape or to Plymouth and find a Wampanoag hair salon, where they know how to do your hair. Getting online to disparage an experience you’ve never had, because someone didn’t call you back, is an oxymoron. Sheena did my hair and is awesome! Only saw her once and she made me feel like a whole new person. I’m a hairstylist myself so I’m very picky about letting another stylist do my hair. She rocks! She’s makes sure she gives a good consultation to make sure she knows exactly what you want, and she may recommend something other depending. I was watching other stylist while waiting, and being serviced and they all were professional as well, good at what they did, and very efficient. They salon itself is clean and nicely decorated.
