You probably know why I bought my plane tickets with Spirit Air...the price offered was significantly less than any other carrier. But you get what you pay for, and when you buy a ticket with Spirit Air, you get NOTHING but the use of a seat on the airplane. It costs extra for a carry-on bag and/or a checked bag, you must pay for seat selection (optional), you'll pay more for any travel insurance if you want its protection, it's an extra charge for a small snack & a soda onboard. However, even after paying for all the extras separately, the total cost of my round trip flight was still less than the next-lowest-cost carrier option, so it was worth it for me to buy through Spirit Air & then pay for all the "extras" afterwards. Bottom line: if you can deal with the "no frills" type of airline and you want to save a good amount of money on your flight, go ahead & buy from Spirit Airlines. You'll save a bundle & still get to wherever you're going. If you want a luxury experience in the sky, look elsewhere.

I think Spirit is excellent. You get what you pay for; they lay it right out for you. I always try to get their big seats up front. I pay for carry-on. I pay for wi-fi and bottled water and the snacks. It's way cheaper than business class with the competition. If you're gonna cheap it up, it's still not bad but I would recommend spending a bit extra. Plus they are pretty consistent with being on-time compared to JB who has really struggled with on-time performance since Covid. Just pay attention to what you're buying with their bundling pricing. I have found their airline professionals to be very nice. Reminded me of Southwest personnel who endeavor to make the flights bearable. It's a discount airline but that's a good thing. Otherwise my roundtrip to the west coast in business class would have been 4x as much.

"Do you want an application," I hear yelled over me, right into my good ear, as I am abruptly awakened by the grating sound. The Spirit airlines attendant is leaning over me toward my uncle, with no respect for the fact that I am sleeping. I have not slept in over 34 hours, had finally fallen asleep on the plane and she is yelling in my ear about something he has already done. We still have hours until I drop him off at his place and it is another 5 hour drive after that, for me to get home. Plus our flight was delayed 2 hours, as a plane sat at our gate empty. I wasn't happy.

My uncle, 6'3" has had his knees jammed into seats for most of the travel. Even I, under 6', have been uncomfortable for most of our travel, packed like sardines into the flying tin can called Spirit Airlines. This after extraordinarily long layovers between the 3 segments, AFTER they triple charged us and refused to give us our original reservation -which was the cheapest/easiest route, because the more expensive flight "is different from the first 2 reservations" for which we were charged. Which they made over the phone telling us they had not charged us.

No, I am not happy at all and having someone yell in my ear disrespectfully, when all she had to do was hand the "credit card application" to him, took it over the top.

I will never fly Spirit Airlines again. We made a reservation with them because my father had died and we needed to get home. Never, ever will I deal with their disrespect again. This is unethical, unconscionable and just downright despicable. Zero stars, NEGATIVE STARS. This review will be posted and a letter also sent with exact information.

We are reeling from the death of my father, his brother, and the total disregard for human decency and flight courtesy is appalling. They should be ashamed of themselves for this behavior. No buck is worth mistreating customers to obtain it.

Update: No response from Spirit Airlines as...

I really don’t know how you would rate an airline that has regular delays no WiFi and no TVs. Despite having a very cheap fee I feel like it’s impossible to have a good flight. You would think that an airline would have cool air, reclining seats, free refreshments and good bathrooms. I had to pay 3$ for a small little can of orange juice that tasted like chemicals. Also, this place doesn’t accept cash! The only way I could get spmething to drink is by charging my credit card endlessly for small cups of tap water. The leg room was not bad but the little metal tray was a complete piece of garbage! In addition to this there is barely any wiggle room. When I wanted to sleep on my plane ride to Florida I had to rest my head on someone else and that person was reluctant to do so. I can tell that all of the staff members are trying their best but the company itself just feels like they can’t accommodate for all of heir customers. In the room you can literally see the clouds of mist circulating around. This place is like ea sports I’m talking you have to pay for every single thing. The hidden fees are completely outrageous. I recommend you to put your luggage in the baggage claim so that you don’t have to pay another 50$ to put your suitcases on the plane (this is a hidden fee) The bathrooms had an awful stench and I could almost see a cloud drifting into the plane. The rooms is very cramped and I almost ran out of toilet paper which is limited and I would probably have to pay another 10$ for another roll. In conclusion I think that this place could do better and add more additiions that other airlines have already made. To finalize my conclusion these 5 hours to Florida and back were a complete waste of my time. Airlines like jet. Blue allow people to stream videos play music and have USB ports. I had to bring a portable charger so that my phone die and I literally had nothing to do for the duration...

Literally never do this. NEVER fly with Spirit, I won't ever fly with them again. We arrived at BOS at 7.20 for our flight leaving at 8. A bit late, I know, but that should be enough time to rush onto the plane, right? Wrong. We went to the desk to check in with our bag and they said it was too late for them to take it. It's 7.20. They say we can either leave our luggage here and go without it or we can reschedule our flight for the next one to Orlando. Okay, fine, when is the next flight to Orlando? June 23th. The day we are supposed to be coming back. Not gonna work. They say they have another flight, to Florida today, but it's to Fort Lauderdale. They say it's only a 2 hour drive from the two airports. Okay, whatever. THEN they say our carry-ons are too big. We measured them at home, they were small enough, but we still had to pay for them. $55 EACH BAG. Our checked bag with is a whoke suitcase over 30 pounds was $40. Okay. Things can't get any worse, right? Well I'm glad you asked because they indeed did. The drive from Fort Lauderdale is actually 3 hours, not 2, and we can't find a good but cheap rental car that will let us pick up in Fort Lauderdale and drop off in Orlando. This part isn't their fault directly, but it definitely just adds to my frustrations. I will NEVER fly Spirit ever again, and I suggest you don't either. Expect no sympathy or understanding from these people, they couldn't care less about you, they just want your money.

Edit: it gets better. When we get on the flight to Fort Lauderdale, we wait on the plane for like 30 minutes for like 15 more people to come, and just before we take off we see them take out the conveyor belt for the luggage, open the luggage door and add a few more suitcases. It's BEEN time to leave. So, they totally could have taken our luggage, but just didn't. Terrible, horrible, no good very...
