My two friends and I were so excited to stay here for a night on our girls trip, and our first time to Boston. The view of the harbor is gorgeous and the shuttle service is convenient, but that’s where the positives stop. We arrived early and wanted to store our luggage while we went out in the town. My friend , who made the reservation, went to the front desk to ask. The person behind the desk did not explain what to do and just pointed across the lobby , not telling us that we needed to go to the other small desk and wait for someone to check out bags. We had a good day in Boston and were looking forward to a good nights rest, since we had been up since 3:45 am traveling. We decided to get to sleep early so we could enjoy the next day fresh. We went to bed around 10 or so. None of us were comfortable because the room was either freezing cold with air blowing directly at our beds, or if we turned it down, the heat crept up and didn’t stay the same. Shortly after we fell asleep around 10:45, we were terrified and confused to wake up to N emergency buzzer and announcement to evacuate the building. We were on the 14th floor and had no clue what was going on therefore we didn’t want to use the elevator if there was a dangerous person or a fire. So out of a dead sleep we went down 14 flights of stairs. We got outside and there were a lot of fire trucks, police officers, and a bunch of guests . We saw people going in and out from the lobby and when we got closer we saw guests I’m the lobby. We assumed it couldn’t be that bad if they allowed guests inside . After 30 minutes of ZERO communication (with those of us outside who chose to listen and evacuate) , a manager came out right as they decided to let guests back in , and let just the people at the entrance know what was going on. Apparently they had turned their heating system on for the first time for the season and someone must’ve either smelled something or saw something. It turned out OK and everyone was able to go to their rooms. However, for being woken up in the middle of the night, especially for a very nice hotel, and not a cheap hotel, we are disgusted with the way this was handled. Things happen and we are happy that they aired on the side of caution, whether it was a staff member or a guest who called emergency, but when when paying guests on vacation, some with pets and children or handicapped, woken up in the middle of the night and have to go outside, and there are so many firetrucks, it is absolutely unprofessional and ridiculous that a manager, or some sort of staff could not come outside and walk up and down the sidewalk letting the patrons know what is going on or at least that it is not an emergency and they’re working on clearing things up. We went to checkout the next morning and my friend who booked the reservation and asked her what the hotel is planning to do to compensate for the inconvenience of the incident last night. She stated that she wasn’t sure what we were talking about because she was not here last night. There are two issues with this. Either she’s playing dumb and lying because I’ve never seen a job where a major incident doesn’t happen, and the next shift is not briefed. Or if she really didn’t know what was going on (which I highly doubt) then that is a shame on the hotel for not briefing a morning staff member for what could definitely be a lot of very upset guests the next morning. She offered free breakfast but it was too early for us and then she offered to take off $25 for one of the many fees . This is a joke. This was handled absolutely horribly and unprofessionally from start to finish. We should receive a full refund and an apology which...

I had to travel to my office in Cambridge somewhat last minute and hotel prices were out of control due to all of the graduations etc so this was really my only Hyatt option under $850 in Boston or Cambridge.

Hotel reviews on here are always a bit tricky everything is graded on a curve. This place having a 4.4/5 while much better hotels are in the 4-4.2 range makes sense considering price, expectations, etc but it can be misleading.

The pros are that this was relatively close to the airport, very cheap considering the alternatives, and it does have relatively nice views.

The cons are that the bed was very uncomfortable, the hotel and the rooms are in BAD need of renovation the wall and furniture in my room were scuffed up and worn out while there was dust caked on certain things like the vents etc, which leads me to the worst point - if you have a dust mite allergy like I do, avoid this place. I woke up with red crusted eyes and bad congestion after going to sleep feeling great. The other downside is the location, getting to/from the hotel to the airport takes longer than you’d expect, and via Uber/Lyft it’s actually quite expensive. Also, you can’t get picked up here by Uber or order UberEats (although Uber will drop you off), you must use Lyft & DoorDash - not a big deal unless you don’t have an account. Uber considers this part of the airport, it’s so dumb, so even if you do set the pickup point it will default to one of the airport pickup spots.

This might also be the worst fitness center I’ve ever experienced at a Regency, they’re typically very nice, this was a tiny room with a couple cardio machines and a few seemingly random weight machines. Only one elliptical and Peloton, crazy for a ~12 floor massive business & airport hotel!

Anyway, not a terrible hotel at all, it just doesn’t live up to my expectations for a Hyatt Regency, as I generally find Hyatts to be excellent and therefore my go-to hotel chain, and this definitely doesn’t live up to what I usually have. The Hyatt Regency in Cambridge is usually around the same price, and even though it also could use a refresh in the rooms, the hotel, beds, cleanliness, convenience, and especially the top tier fitness center, are all much better. Go...

Incredible experience at the Boston Harbor Hyatt Regency. I want to give a huge shout out to GM Chad Goudie and his team because the service at this hotel is exceptional. My partner and I are Hyatt Globalists and stopped over here on our way to Europe for our Honeymoon. When we let the hotel know that little detail they went above and beyond to make our experience special. Chad even wrote us a welcome card! It’s the little touches like that which set apart the great hotels from the good hotels. When every detail is accounted for and the team is consistent in delivering quality service. Special thanks also owed to Ashley at the front desk, who checked us in at 1AM. It was a very late-flight, so it was really nice to be greeted by someone as friendly and welcoming as her. She worked expeditiously, answered all our questions, and was very friendly and easy to talk to.

As for the amenities, you won’t find a better view in all of Boston. The windows from the main hall, the restaurant/bar, and the rooms all face the harbor and provide a gorgeous vista of Boston. It’s no wonder they have weddings here, the venue is that beautiful. (There was literally a wedding here on our second day. Congrats to the happy couple!)

Rooms were clean, great size. Equipped with Chromecast which was unfortunately down at the time, but that’s a contractor issue I don’t fault hotels for that kind of stuff.

The shuttle service to-and-from the airport came in clutch. We used it 3 times as a convenient way to connect to Logan Express busses and to shuttle to flights. Just a cherry on top for the level service this spot provides. And as if that connectivity wasn’t enough, the Hull/Hingham Ferry connects to the other side of the harbor and drops you right at the back door step of the hotel.

It’s well located, well connected, clean, gorgeous, comfortable, with a good breakfast buffet, great staff, and nice rooms. Huge kudos to Mr. Chad Goudie, he runs and incredible show at this spot. We’re looking forward to future stays whenever we have business in Boston. Thanks for kicking off our honeymoon in style, we truly appreciate the...
