We thought this was one of the nicest Hiltons we've stayed at in years. That kind of surprised us, with this being right at the airport, I mean like right next to the gates at Terminal A, so we were skeptical.|The lobby was huge and beautifully decorated, and the room was the same. Ours faced the city which was across the harbor, so the view, especially at night, was awesome. |Everything in the room seemed completely clean. Water pressure was good (but it did take a bit for it to get hot) and there were nice toiletries and plenty of clean towels. |Bed was extremely comfortable, pillows so-so. |Probably the most amazing thing about the room was how quiet it was. Literally right next to Terminal A, you could see all the Delta planes, and all the madness of Boston Harbor right in front of you and we heard no outside noise. Room had excellent blackout curtains.|Price was OK for the location and quality. About 330 for a king on the 9th floor (I think its a ten story hotel). But this was for a weekend night. I think a weeknight might be quite a lot higher because of business travelers.|Breakfast at the morning restaurant was quite pricey though. We paid around $60 for two, getting some of the less expensive breakfasts on the menu. But the restaurant staff was super friendly and efficient, from the host to the servers. Really great.|Access to the city was great. They have a free shuttle that will take you to either the T's ferry or private water taxi dock, or to the T's subway terminal (way cheaper and about the same travel time), and of course you just walk to the airport Terminal A (an easy 10 minutes, completely indoors), but their shuttle will also take you to the farther terminals. You can even walk to the harborfront or into East Boston for some exercise, but the first few blocks have pretty intense traffic.|Overall we...
Read moreWe stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn first. I think the room there had more to offer than the 4 star one, however we decided to go to the 4-star one (airport) since we had just gotten engaged and I had also just found out I was pregnant that same night so we wanted a more special night and everything else was booked. To our surprise, it wasn’t really an upgrade, room wise.
We had a bad experience with one of the employees. Her name is Martina NoLastName (she said she didn’t have a last name). She is overweight and blonde with a bun, maybe Russian? I’m not sure. We had to be at the airport at 2am on Monday so we checked out at 1 pm on Sunday and left our luggage there. We went back to pick them up at midnight and during the day we had bought a few things so we sat in the lobby and started putting the things we bought inside the suitcase. To our surprise, the security guard was kindly asking us to leave so I went up to Martina NoLastName and asked kindly if we could finish organizing our luggage and she said I was no longer a guest at the hotel and that I had to go.
Honestly, if I pay for an upgrade I expect at least some kindness or flexibility but I felt treated like I was a homeless person trying to invade their hotel when I was KINDLY asking for a little bit of time. She seamed pleased to say no every time, talking to me while walking and clearly not giving me any more attention because “I was no longer a guest”. I said “can we please finish organizing our SMALL luggage”, she said “you can organize it at the airport”. Anyway, it really sucks that such a special trip and every amazing day of it can turn a bit bitter just because one person can’t be kind to you. The room was over 500 dollars a night and I couldn’t be there for one more hour to wait for my check in. Any way, if you don’t run into MARTINA, you’ll definitely...
Read moreMy wife and I stayed here Aug 18, 2024 for the commonest reason, we had an early morning flight home the next day and this hotel is very convenient to the airport terminals either by walkway or shuttle bus depending on which terminal you leave/arrive from. We are as world traveled as many older couples and have stayed at Hilton properties around the US and abroad. The room was clean and nice as expected and I would still recommend the property for its convenience. However, some of our experience with the staff was disappointing. Checkin was fine but assistance with our bags was difficult to obtain. We are elderly and I left my wife and the bags at reception while I went to return the rental car so she could relax in the room before having some dinner in the restaurant. After a long wait she finally got some minimal assistance from a reluctant staff person. When I got back to the hotel the restaurant was completely full and there are no alternatives on site such as a bar or deli. So we decided we'd return to our room and pay the extra charge for room service. This turned out badly. There was no menu in the room and the on screen menu was hard to find on the TV. Once we did get it on the screen we called the extension listed and immediately got hung up on twice. A third attempt got a person to answer but after my wife said we'd like some room service they hung up again. A fourth and final attempt was also rebuffed with a hang up. This was all highly unprofessional especially for a $400 dollar room. Even a polite explanation that room service was not available for some reason at that particular time would have been in order. I'm giving 3 stars because of the location and the serviceable room condition but some staff training is...
