I had to quit seeing Sky abruptly because our last session left me injured and his response to that made things worse. At that session, he left me on my stomach with cups and needles on my back and said he would be back in a couple of minutes. I was in a very awkward position but couldn't call him, because he has no notification system. At one point, I heard my jaw pop in a new way. I thought about yelling but that was impossible in that position. It felt like I was left about 20-30 min. Both my jaw and neck felt injured afterwards. Sky and the gym/industrial space are a bit intimidating- so I didn't say anything right after the session. However, after speaking to my mentor, I realized that what had happened was wrong and I needed to speak up. When I did reach out to Sky, I requested he comp the session that had left me injured, and to also give me one session to correct the damage. I needed him to say, "how are you, yes of course, let's make this right." His response instead was defensive and placating, but he reluctantly agreed to comp my next session. A couple of days after this, I had an appointment I had already had scheduled. The morning of, I received a text a half hour before from his assistant that Sky had to reschedule until the following Saturday at 8:30 am, a very awkward, random time many days later. At that time, my mentor, advised me that Sky was trying to get me to not come back, which is exactly what it felt like. I texted his assistant that I planned to give him a bad review on Google and contact DORA to report the issue. He later left me a voicemail saying he'd had a family emergency and that he'd told his assistant to try to get me in later that day, which felt like a lie. I tried to reach out to him again and again, his response was defensive and gaslighting. Every other acupuncturist I have seen has had at least a simple bell to alert them when you are on the table and can't move under needles. So I think he just didn't want to admit how stupid and unnecessary it was that I got injured that way. Practitioners who behave like this don't think about the extent of the damage they do- Incidents like this make people give up on trying to get help. I'm not sure how much seeing him for a couple of months weekly even did for me, and now I have an additional injury. Very...
