What a great place. It is a laid back friendly place with a great vibe, great food and awesome beers.
We selected this place after seeing all the great reviews. The reviewers aren’t lying.
This is a counter service place so you go up to the bar and order your food/drink, they hand you a pager (for your food ), beers and you grab a table.
The bar staff was very friendly and the service was very quick.
If you like a lighter less hoppy beer with a citrus flavor, the “lemon aid stand” is for you. It’s very refreshing and after walking around under the hot midday sun, you’ll want gallons of this stuff. I kid you not. It goes down real easy, and has a tiny tart kick at the end. Beautiful!
Also, and this is huge for me, the beer is COLD. They do something with the glass that chills it better than any place I’ve ever been served beer before. In other micro breweries, the beer is served somewhat cold, almost warm. Not this place, the beer is served cold and remains that way for a very long time. You’ll finish your beer and your last sip will be colder than a fresh beer served at other micro breweries. This is more than sticking the mug in the freezer. This really caught me off guard.
Now the food. We had the pretzels, nachos and Hawaiian pizza. The Hawaiian pizza was the best I’ve had since I can remember. I would classify this as a gourmet pizza. There was a lot of thought that went into making this pizza and the taste proves it. It isn’t just slapped together. It has a nice thin crust with the right amount of crispness and snap to it. The ingredients were fresh and top notch. It has the perfect balance of toppings, cheese, sauce and crust. It pairs perfectly with the lemon aid stand. The pretzel was warm, soft and had the right amount of salt. The cheese sauce had a slight kick to it. So Delicious! The nachos were equally good. We polished that off quickly.
Overall, this is a gem of a place. The pizza is excellent and the beers refreshing. We’ll be...
Read moreLet's start with the good first. The patio is absolutely amazing and wonderful to sit at after a long hike. The beer is equally as wonderful and some of the best I've had at a brewery in a while. Now for the reason I'm only giving this place a 2 star review. The service was horrible! Sat down order drinks within the 1st 10 minutes, which was good. Then we waited a 1/2 hour to order our food. Mind you, this place was not that busy. Once we ordered our food which was an appetizer and two salads, we waited over an hour. Our waitress never came to check on us in a hour, we had no food and our beers were empty. When I asked her if we could at least get the appetizer because we were starving she rushed in to check on our order. When she returned she asked us what we had ordered because she forgot to submit it to the kitchen. At that point you would think our order would have been rushed since that had already been messed up, but it wasn't. She brought us out chips in sausa 30 minutes later and told us that our food should be out shortly. Remind you we only ordered an appetizer and two salads. 45 minutes later we got our food with the appetizer at the same time. Once we were done we waited for our check for another 25 minutes. With only an apology we paid full price for our bill with no compensation for the mistake that was made. I'm pretty sure that this waitress didn't even tell her manager what had happened because we didn't even get a visit from the manager. Being in the service industry myself for many years this situation was handled poorly. Unfortunately it has cost us wanting to never go back or wanting to reccommend it to anyone else. So if you're just going for patio sitting and wonderful beer, this is your place. If you are looking for food in any sort of timely manner, this would not my be my first pick. Probably won't be returning after...
Read moreBeen coming here from Florida at least once a year for the past 6 years. Hate to say it, but I've had better experiences in years past. Service this last trip was just abominable. Their bar has about 8 seats, one other person at the bar when I walked in, 4 bartenders behind this small bar and none so much as acknowledged my presence, no eye contact, no nothing. After closing the menus and waiting a couple minutes, I waved one down who was less than 5 feet away and asked if I could order a beer. I'm a big fan of all craft beer, but have always liked the Billie' s chilies and ghostface they offer. Got the beer finally and it's not quite cold enough. Ok, I can overlook that. . . Waited again for anyone to take my food order, remember, this is a very small bar and these people can't be troubled to ask if I want anything, is my beer ok, etc, and it's about 6:15, close enough to dinnertime. Flagged one of them down to get some queso. When it comes another bartender tries to give it to another couple that just sat down, I had to convince her to please give to me, I ordered it awhile ago. No silverware, no napkins, cool I'll just use my shirt. Queso barely lukewarm. One tender did ask me if I wanted a second beer, and guess what, not cold. Waited and waited again for the check and the bartender who tried to give my food away had no idea what or where my tab was.
This place has been a favorite of mine for years and I've actually recommended it and defended it against other craft brew drinkers who didn't think it was worth it. No longer. Service sucks, beer is warm, food is cold. If you guys don't care, don't be in the craft beer business. There are just too many other amazing options in this area. So far away from your...
