I wanted to cancel my monthly recurring membership with them. I messaged them through their website chat messenger, but they never responded. I ended up losing my debit card, cancelled the card, and soon began receiving multiple borderline harassing emails that they could not process the payment and that my account would be frozen and a penalty would be need to be paid to reactivate my account. At that point, I was under the impression my account was closed. I eventually received a new debit card, but The Spot continued trying to charge my old debit card, and Visa eventually pushed the charge through onto my new debit card. I was given no notice from The Spot that my card had been charged and that my account was reactivated. I had been paying for the past 2 months without any type of notice, and I thought my account had been frozen. My friend also had a poor experience trying to close his account. Read moreThe spot Boulder was my home gym for nearly 5 years while I was living in Colorado and I miss it terribly. I had another gym down the street and I still drove the 20mins 3-4x days a week to climb here. The variety of routes is unparalleled and the staff is just fantastic, really can't say enough about these folks. I've been to a lot of climbing gyms all over the country and this is one of the last bastions of the old style of taped hold setting. The walls have higher hold density and the routes overlap giving you infinitely more variety in style. On that note: the route setters do an absolutely fantastic job creating interesting and unique climbs for all levels. It's also still home to a lot of the old school van-life climbers and the regulars are really down to earth. It's just got a great overall community.
Much love from NC...

Aside from the chalk, the place is unfortunately just grimy. Apart from cleanliness and air quality issues, it is fine. There are a ton of problems, some better marked than others. Like many bouldering gyms, more of their space is dedicated to overhang and problems V4 and higher. There are fewer options for V1-V3 or for vertical or slab problems, though there's still enough to keep one busy. Setting in the V1-V3 range wasn't particularly imaginative, but I did find a few interesting challenges. A lot of the V4 and up problems...
