Short version: LEILANI IS THE BEST AND DESERVES NOTHING BUT PRAISE!!!!!!!! She is simply AMAZING and A MIRACLE WORKER!! She made my wedding dress from scratch, no pattern: only a picture of the dress I wanted, 7 yards of fabric, and lots of lace! You should definitely go here for anything regarding dressmaking/alterations!!!!!! 💗💗💗

Long version: Let me tell you my whooole wedding dress story! So, I found the most perfect wedding dress ever online, but it was from Japan and wouldn’t be here in time for my wedding! What was a poor girl to do?! My mind was made up that THAT was the only dress I wanted for my wedding. I searched around and found a few different places that could make that dress from scratch. The first place I checked with was a stuffy place in Sandy area, I waited days for a response, then they said they were going to charge $2,000 dollars for the start and then $85 per hour! That was INSANE to me. I was not about to be in the hole that much money. I then called Chays (Leilani) and she was very friendly and knew absolutely EVERYTHING there is to know about sewing/dressmaking/alterations! She gave me her personal phone number (which is so nice) and was VERY fast at responding. Like lightening quick; I really appreciated that!!! I sent her a picture of the dress I wanted and she told me she could do it for $600 + the cost of fabric (which was only about $50) 🤯🤯🤯🤯 ONLY $600?!?! That was a NO brainer! I immediately took her up on her offer! Only $600 for a custom made wedding dress?! Yes absolutely!!! After I got the fabric, she got me in for measurements and started the dress! I only gave her 3 photos of the dress I wanted, and she made it completely from scratch!!! She is literally one of the best dressmakers in the whole of Utah! Probably the USA actually! She was extremely detail oriented which is PERFECT for something as serious as a wedding dress! She was so helpful and gave me such good advice on what to do when I was stuck on a certain detail. She got my entire wedding dress done so quickly! In about a month and a half!!! ONLY!!! That’s so fast for a complete, complex, and custom wedding dress! Leilani is so pleasant! Her personality is so sweet and bubbly! While being so sweet and nice, she is an EXTREMELY HARD WORKER!!!! You can just tell! She is such a sweetheart and I can safely say I adore her!!!! She also altered my husband’s suit and did a PERFECT...

Leilani is an AMAZING seamstress, and I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER to anyone! We had 3 dresses that needed alterations for our son’s Wedding (because they were either too big, or they didn’t fit correctly, or were immodest), but Leilani listened, pinned and tucked until they were perfect! She even “let out” one arm hole (to accommodate a healing broken shoulder that is bigger than normal) and she didn’t even charge extra for a second fitting alteration! These dresses look SO GOOD now, that you can’t even tell that they were altered in the first place! Leilani DEFINITELY HAS AN EYE FOR DETAIL! She is SO TALENTED! I plan to recommend her to ALL of my friends and family….and BEST of all, she’s even local, right here in Bountiful! Chay's Dressmaking is great! I visited after trying 2 other alteration shops and was turned away for not having my measurements done at home already. She has a changing room so you can put on the garment and then pins it while it is on your body.

She did an excellent job on a somewhat difficult garment. It was not just a simple hemming, however, she did a great job!

I did not receive a phone call when my garment was ready for pick up. There is a sign reading that items not picked up within 30 days go to the thrift store. I am glad I called to check a week after the quoted time period otherwise I would never have known.
