Unfortunately, the BG Daily News does not take responsibility for fact-checking statements in reader-submitted letters. It is important for people to be able to share their perspectives on topics, but the duty of the news is to provide accurate information. This paper frequently publishes health misinformation in its “letters to the editor” section, especially regarding COVID-19. People will believe what they read in the news. Allowing COVID-19 misinformation to be published in your paper is harmful to our community and our loved ones. It also damages your credibility as a news source. My wife has called repeatedly to complain about wet, soggy newspapers because this carrier won't bag the papers even if it's already pouring the rain. Unfortunately nobody seems to care.
