My visit to Vint’illage, was a fantastic experience from the moment I walked in, to the moment I walked out.
Upon entering, I was greeted by an associate. She was very pleasant and helpful. Throughout my visit there, I heard her as well as the owner greet other visitors. They have what is obviously a scripted greeting in which they specifically tell new visitors that it’s an antique/vintage store (which their signs also say); and that, because the owner owns everything there, they’re happy to “haggle” down on prices - plus, they automatically bundle and lower prices if you buy multiple things. No store I’ve ever gone to not only does that, but tells you up front that they’re happy to. I bought 7 items, and the bundle price they gave me reduced the price by almost 30%!!!
Antiquing is one of my favorite hobbies, and let me tell you, this is the place to go. There were many one-of-a-kind items I’ve never even seen before (some labeled as such, and which I could in fact find nowhere else online); display cases holding books going back to the 1600s; artifacts dating to the Bronze Age; Victorian/MCM furniture; and too much more to mention. One of my personal favorites, was a set of MCM atomic bomb lamps. I ended up researching further, because I was FASCINATED, and came to find out that I could not find a pair online anywhere else in the world. The only single lamp I could find, resides in the Los Alamos Historical Museum in New Mexico. Even the museum only has one, not a pair, and it is without an original shade, these both have the original shades.
Beyond the fantastic inventory, I have literally never been in an antique or vintage store that’s so meticulously laid out. There are individual rooms for different categories of inventory (books, glassware, clothing, albums, etc). The overall atmosphere is amazing. Great music, massive plants, perfect lighting, friendly cats, cleanliness, great inventory, and extremely fair-to-low pricing relative to what the items are. I have never been to an antique or vintage store I’ve liked more.
10/10 recommend, and will definitely be making this store a...
Read moreI’ve never been in a store with such a broad range of inventory - all of it equally awesome! Bronze-age weapons, Greek and Roman coins, 400 year old maps, Victorian furniture, rare MCM pieces, original modern art, jewelry, a whole room of clothing. And just the right blend of traditional “thrift” items.
SO MUCH STUFF!! 🤩
The atmosphere is definitely the best of any antique or vintage store I’ve been in: It looks great - great lighting, great layout. It’s clean. It smells great (candles, oil diffusers). The classic rock/pop music playlist is a blast. And it has the 2 friendliest store cats maybe anywhere. 🥰
Also, truly fair prices. As soon as you walk in you’re greeted, and told that the owner owns everything in the entire place (no vendors) - so he’s a very friendly haggler. It’s not surprising that it’s the only antique/vintage store within about 10 miles of BG. It would probably be impossible to compete with a sole-owner place this size that does everything right. Including restrooms 😀 - Very handy if you get caught up leafing through antique books (in the book room) while listening...
Read moreWe stopped in today and the owner was so kind! Letting us know right away that he was open to negotiations and would even give us a deal on multiple items and bundle them! We found our last name on a box and he told us all about the item and even gave us a left over piece that we could glue together that had the branding (our last name) on it for free! The shop's set up is so interesting and he has things displayed out everywhere. Big things might be hard to move around but he was so helpful in assisting with moving things in and out and helping us to the car. There are so many interesting things everywhere. Make sure you check it out and when you go look up and down. He has things hanging from the ceiling in multiple rooms that I almost missed! There is something for everyone there and you won't be disappointed! The cats are also an...
