Doing my open water certification with Sal was an amazing experience, he was funny and personable. We were able to learn about diving and practice our skills while having a blast at the same time. Our first two days in the pool were both educational and a lot of fun. The open water dive was an absolutely amazing experience. We were able to finish our certification requirements in less than 30 minutes and Sal took us to some of the best spots by blue heron bridge with our remaining air. He offered me some of his used gear at a fraction of the cost of used gear. He easily saved me $400 on a quality BCD that was just a few years old. He saved us a lot of time and money doing our nitrox certification at the same time as our open water also at a fraction of the cost of doing it separately. Not only would I recomend Ideal Scuba Academy to other new divers but I will be going back to ideal to do my advanced open water. I was beyond impressed with Ideal Scuba Academy. Sal was extremely accommodating with our schedule. He is very knowledgeable and takes his time explaining the whole process of diving to his students. From start to finish I felt very comfortable with his teaching methods and felt very safe in his presence. Absolutely amazing course and teacher. Sals energy can keep any student fully engaged throughout the course. We loved that the training includes multiple days of real water experience (instead of some courses which use mostly pools). I was a new to diving and not very experienced in the water, my brother had minimal experience prior to the course. After completing this course we feel fully capable and very comfortable communicating w divers underwater, using alternate respirator if needed, diving from boat or shore, controlling our buoyancy through assends and descends, and so much more....
