I love the atmosphere at Two Georges! My boyfriend and I had our first lunch date here right on the intracoastal 4 years ago, and we still love going whenever we get a chance! We love feeding the catfish and watching the boats cruising the waterways. Unfortunately, my last experience at Two Georges almost cost me my life, and I feel more than obligated to let people know this. I have a SEVERE shellfish allergy! I have known this for years and carry an epi pen and wear a scanable medical tag on my watch. I am ALWAYS careful to ask about what foods are cooked with ESPECIALLY when ordering anything put in a fryer! That said, I ordered tuna tacos with a side of Cole Slaw, NOTHING FROM THE DEEP FRYER!!! WHAT CAME OUT???? You guessed it... seasoned fries! Nowhere on the menu is there a warning for people with food allergies stating that Two Georges uses shrimp (or conch) in their deep fryer! So not only wasn't it my order to begin with (because I was being a bit cautious)... but there's simply NO WARNING!!! I took a few bites and had a feeling I could taste the shrimp. After 3 fries, I knew that I was doomed. Even though I carry an epi pen, ONE EPI PEN WASN'T ENOUGH!!! I needed to pull over on my way home (luckily I COULD pull over and was only 4 miles from my house and able to administer my shot myself!) By the time I got home I was still having difficulty breathing and hours later needed a second dose of epinephrine along with a double dose of Benadryl. This was by far the worst allergic reaction I've had yet, and I feel blessed to have made it through just fine. I do feel obligated to let the public know that Two Georges doesn't put a warning regarding the fact that they use Shrimp in their deep fryer ANYWHERE on their menu! In fact, there isn't a warning regarding food allergies AT ALL!!! This is not only upsetting to me since I LOVE Two Georges and I had to suffer such a frightening near death experience but also for the fact that another person may not even know and it could cost them their life! My boyfriend DID follow up with a phone call to the manager that day. Not sure they listened or understood but he did his best. Again, I LOVE Two Georges and I will go back as soon as I can muster up...
Read moreWent for a nice dinner at this restaurant, the atmosphere was great and got a nice seating area right by the water. I had the Calamari for appetizer and order a side of the Thai chili sauce instead of the house sauce that comes with it. Great combination. for the main course I got the Pan Seared Tuna, trying to have something different and they had marked it with a star as a house specialty. Presentation looked very pretty as you can see on the pictures. First lets talk about flavors , it was super bland no flavor and nothing to tie it together. The dish comes with the seared tuna , rice, ginger, and "vegetables", little mango i think salad and a wasabi sauce. The tuna wasn't seasoned and it was cold to be pan seared, the rice was cold like it had just been taken out the fridge and put on the plate with no flavor either, the vegetables only included green and red peppers with snap peas on a soy sweet sauce. The wasabi sauce was spicy and had no flavor what so ever , tasted a bit bitter. They put pieces of picked ginger which were kind off big, considering how strong ginger flavor is. The only thing I probably liked was the little mango/pineapple salad that came with it. I was super disappointed with this dish and don't recommend it personally, this dish could have tasted great with a few changes made. The waiter was very nice and offered a side dish of warm rice but It didn't make sense, I personally don't like sending food back to the kitchen. He also saw that I didn't touch the food and took it off the bill, which was pretty excellent customer service. I ended up ordering the coconut shrimp appetizer which was really good. I think I would come here again but just because of the view, not much for the food. I also had their two Georges planters punch which looked nothing like the picture they advertise on the menu.
I am not a professional chef but I love to cook, and write reviews for places I visit so people can spend their money on food that is worth it. 3 stars for seating view, customer service,...
Read moreGross and poorly managed. The smell of dumpster garbage is the first impression Two George's offers as you approach the hostess station. It took at least 5 to ten minutes for the smell of garbage to leave my nostrils and before I couldn't smell it any more. We were joining a large party of people who had already been seated, but who didn't have plates or silverware yet. After 20 minutes we took it upon ourselves to steal them from the unoccupied tables around us. Then we ordered drinks. I was grossed out by the drinks other patrons had so I only ordered a Coke that didn't show up with the other drinks: had to ask for it a second time. The menu is poorly designed for example: Is Ceviche really a soup? I ordered a fried fish sandwich with extra onions that the servers gave to someone else who ordered a fried grouper sandwich. The quality of the sandwich was below fast food quality: no extra onions and wilted lettuce. It was a rather small sandwich for the price: small bun and little fish. My wife ordered a grilled fish sandwich but was brought a blackened fish sandwich and it took over 20 minutes to bring her a replacement. She got her fish when everyone was finished with their plates. That made getting us out birthday cake we brought take even longer. The server took so long cutting it up I literally got out of my seat and crossed the room to offer him help. It was like he was giving it his best 20% effort he could. He was not someone who should be in a service role: way way too slack. We arrived at 4:30 and were able to escape at 7:30. What a waste of a birthday party. All of that was horrible but the worst part was the manager coming over to our table to "listen" to us for 2 seconds and then offer excuses with no remedies to the totally reasonable feedback we were offering him. If being a gaslighting narcissist is today's required skill for restaurant management then I'll be cooking more at home. No thank you Two George's. I wouldn't return if...
