The Centennial Park and Amphitheater located behind city hall is part of the $80,000,000, 16.5 acre Town Square Public Private Partnership (P3) Mixed-Use and Governmental Complex Project . This project includes the City Hall/Library building, Fire Station No.1, urban park space and amphitheater, streetscape and pedestrian improvements, adaptive-reuse of the historic Boynton Beach High School building into a cultural/convention/community center and the District Energy Building.
The amphitheater and park were completed in 2020. Behind city hall there is a wide lawn, stage, and public art. There is plenty of room in the park to set up food trucks and tents and there is a huge lot for free parking across the street. I especially love the huge banyan trees that line the perimeter of the park. The beautiful City Hall is usually open during events to provide restrooms and air conditioning breaks.
Since its creation the park has hosted a monthly concert series and many festivals including the Kinetic Biennial, Haunted Pirate and Mermaid and Festiva,l and the Boynton Beach Fire Rescue Centennial Celebration.
