Leaving 5 stars because of overall experience with 2 employees, but I will address negatives as well.
Positives: Packs (Pokemon) are decent price. Cheaper than Walmart. Boxes are market price.
Positives (employees) The owner Josh, and this other girl (southern draw, blonde) very knowledgeable. Helps get a deal when possible. Sets condition of cards to LP instead of NM.
NEGATIVES. There is one employee, heavy set, beard and glasses. He thinks he's knowledgeable about pokemon but he literally doesn't know anything about it. I came in once and asked to see a binder to see if there was anything new...He said "No there isn't anything new" (potentiallly costing a sale!) I said "well when was the last time it was updated?" And he said "About 2 weeks ago" - I informed him that it had been a month since I went to that specific binder. Seeing his error, but letting narcissistic behavior prevail he told me "still nothing new except for some really expensive cards and I don't think you want to spend that kind of money." Yeah not now with YOU. I'll come back when a good employee is there.
He was very rude to another woman that came in. She wanted to look at cards and was picking out cards and he would say "yeah you shouldn't get that one" and she said "well I need it, but why?" And he had to explain that some other (MTG) card was better but probably wasn't affordable for her....Dude what are you doing? So she left and didn't spend money...
Then a card I really wanted. Market price was $5.60 but the TCG scanner was scanning as the wrong card and saying it was over $50. I showed him TCG Market and he said "yeah I have to do whatever the scanner says". I asked "even if it's wrong?" And he just said "yeah"...WTF
Finally I find cards I want and I'm wishing so bad Josh would come in so I could ask to deal with him. But he unfortunately didn't.
The guy gave me my total and it was literally DOUBLE what LP Quality is on the cards. 2 of the cards were HEAVY PLAY and 3 were MODERATE and one was DAMAGE but it was a base set holo rare. My total was supposed to be $40 but he's saying its over $100...The shop always sells cards based on QUALITY just like when they sell on TCG ONLINE. But he didn't adjust the scanner and everything was listed as MINT CONDITION. He said "that's how we have to do it". I explained it had spent over $500 here in the last month and he was incorrect. So he just shrugged and said "well I mean if you want them this is the price" so I left. Whoever he is, and I hope I'm not insulting family or something...But he's very incompetent and was more concerned about playing MTG rather than helping customers and literally kept telling us not to buy stuff...
OH THE STRAW THAT BROKE THE CAMELS BACK
I wanted a few pokemon booster packs. The ones I wanted were behind the counter. I told him which ones and said I wanted to pick the pack of course (already being frustrated) and he just handed me the packs. I said again "I would like to pick my own packs please" and he actually said "we can't do it that way". Whoever this dude is has no business being a TCG worker. He acted like he knew it all while knowing nothing at all...
Other than him...The shop is great. If I see him working I leave. I had $200 yesterday to spend on cards but he was there so I left and ended up spending it at another mom and...

What a cute little store! It is clean and has a lot packed into it's space, but not in a crowded way. Plenty of board games to choose from as well as miniature games and supplies for all that which you survey. It's also a hangout spot with plenty of tables for gaming needs and a schedule for most popular games going on right now.
It also has a table with a TV in it for D&D maps as well as some scenery you can borrow for your adventuring needs.
Though the Branson Dragon be small it be fierce and fun! The owners are sweet and well informed; available to answer your questions and play...
Read moreOne of my favorite hobbies is to travel from stores to stores in different locations in cities. The Branson dragon game store has a really good atmospheric feel. Whenever I go into a new store and judge them I need to know how the people feel. Everybody here was happy I didn't hear any profound language or any disagreements and the workers were happy and extremely helpful. I have a really strong feeling that the store is going to grow and multiply over the years and I can't wait to be or see what becomes...
