Mise also recommended Gordon's Hardwood Flooring (Karen) and Viko’s Flooring (Viko) for carpet that we contracted independently. We could not have asked for a more flexible, responsive, yet patient, insightful, professional and customer focused core team for our Poulsbo project.

As you may know every project presents both known and unknown challenges right from the start. Ours was no exception. But through frequent and responsive coordination, the Mise-R5-BH team worked through them all flawlessly. One challenge was the return-to-work with COVID work restrictions after a 6 week work stoppage about mid-way through our project. The team implemented the necessary precautions and picked back up without missing a beat. Restart was also especially challenging due to counter-top and glass vendor scheduling and work which stacked other projects with ours and slowed completion a bit. Despite this the team continued to press towards completion. Their attention to detail and task re-prioritization when faced with vendor delays was impressive. But most importantly, there were no self-inflicted delays due to their outstanding project management.

We are absolutely thrilled with the results of our remodel and could not be more grateful for the incredible work done by Mise en Place Design! Our home was built in the early 1980s and in desperate need of some updates. Mise en Place Design was recommended by a coworker of mine and, after looking at their client portfolio, I knew this was who we needed to hire for the job.

Our project was extensive for a rather small home, involving many layout changes (completely reworking the kitchen design, moving the laundry closet into an expanded powder bathroom, moving and expanding the size of the range, moving our TV over the brick fireplace, raising two sunken living rooms, replacing all flooring and trim, the list goes on). We had the pleasure of working with Jacinda, who was personable, professional and had great attention-to-detail. She quickly caught onto our design style and the final product is such a good mix of modern, rustic, Pacific Northwest style.

Mise en Place Design services were absolutely worth the cost. To be able to see renderings of your design and continue to make changes until you are certain you will love the result was invaluable. The final product is beyond our expectations – it’s functional, beautiful, and we repeatedly look around and say to each other “I love our house”.

We had some unfortunate challenges with our contractor and some of the material suppliers during the construction phase of our project. Jennifer and Jacinda were responsive and helped us navigate these difficult situations and conversations. They were our advocates, and we were thankful we had them there to help us.

Almost our entire downstairs was reworked with this remodel project. We have yet to tackle our upstairs but are very much looking forward to enlisting the services of Mise en Place Design again and working along side Jacinda to freshen up our bedrooms and bathrooms. We recently had the pleasure of working with the team at Mise En Place Design on a year-long project remodeling a kitchen, living room, laundry room and master bath in our condominium penthouse. We couldn’t be happier with the results!

Our project faced numerous design challenges due to the building’s concrete structure. However, Mise en Place managed everything with skill and creativity. They offered innovative solutions to maximize our space and devised thoughtful workarounds for various design limitations. For instance, they skillfully navigated around post-tension cables encased in the concrete floor to relocate plumbing and designed around immovable concrete shear walls.

We unexpectedly lost the contractor they helped us select due to health reasons a few weeks before work was set to begin. Mise en Place swiftly connected us with two excellent alternatives. Thanks to their quick action and experience, our project was only delayed by two months.
