Overall I'm on the fence about this niche grocery store. The owners and staff are relatively friendly and the gentleman who owns the place offered to answer any questions we had. The pricing is probably along the lines of a typical grocery store. They have an extensive collection of different products from all of Europe, the Middle East, and the United States. Be aware that a lot of the products, despite being from other countries still contain bad ingredients such as sorbitol and invert sugar. There are still products using real ingredients, but just remember to read labels. Most of the products have English labels for nutrition facts and ingredients, but some do not. We got seasme, sunflower, and nut candies (I believe that is how they would be categorized), gingerbread with honey, and a sort of multi-berry ice cream. The nut candies were not as good; there is a likelihood that they were stale or it could be due to the brand. The gingerbread came from a California bakery and had stronger but not overwhelming notes of ginger and honey, but on the bread side. The ice cream was unique - strong flavor of blueberry, blackberry, and black currant with a thin chocolate shell. The ice cream's texture was more akin to a marshmallow, but not quite. This could be a source for products and brands grocery stores may not carry here, but it is up to your...

Best grocery store in ALL of west Florida, personally I have brought and recommended this place to around 30 different people because I love it so much. Very nice eclectic collection of a little bit of everything. The section for soaps and bath items are underrated. Wonderful deli where you can get custom cuts of meat and freshly cooked food and sweets. Great variety and many options. If you don't know what you want or have any ounce of uncertainty in your mind, you can ask the staff and they will give you recommendations at length for things like recipes or the flavors/differences between somethings. I would rate higher than five stars if I could! I love this store, and the people who run it are people I can call friends. Thanks for 6 years of happiness Merefa. This is one of the best things about Pensacola,...

I had a great experience at MEREFA today! What an incredible selection of Eastern European foods, both refrigerated, fresh, and dry goods. They have a most amazing variety, literally shelves full of teas and chocolates to try, as well as Turkish coffee. They bake fresh there pirozhki, which is a pastry filled with finely chopped meat and spices. Our family tried the cabbage, beef, and beef and lamb, and they were delicious! Also, everything was priced and the store was clean and orderly. The owner was very friendly and took time to answer any questions. I will be back and take pictures next time....

I just came back from a month in the Balkans (Montenegro, Albania, and Turkey) and I was really missing the fresh breakfasts. I had been to Merefa when they first opened, and wow! They've expanded so much! I was able to find everything I was looking for - kashkaval cheese and soft white cheese in brine, preserves, pickles, hearty bread, and (not pictured) Turkish black tea; the rest I filled in with fresh, local items. I also picked up some instant borscht packets, which are super hard to find and great for travel! I will definitely be making visits more often.
