My friend was instructed to come here a couple days ago (3/14/23) at around 6 or 7pm due to complications following a surgery she had a couple days prior. While the nurses and dr. Wright were very nice, there was one male tech that really bothered me and my friend.
I didnât get his name but Iâm guessing the nurse who was helping us the whole night was busy, so the male tech came into the room to assist with my friend but he had his mask down. My friend kindly asked him to pull his mask up since itâs a hospital setting and she didnât want to risk getting sick. Instead of putting his mask on, he said âwell theyâre doing away with the mask thing anywayâ and continued what he was doing without his mask being on correctly. Again, my friend asked the man to please pull it up and, again, he said the âmask thingâ was going away, but after the second time asking, he put it on correctly.
Then, my friend asked if she can wait for the female nurse that was helping her all night since she was naked and felt more comfortable with the female nurse and this guy didnât like that and stormed out the room. He said âokay you know what you can waitâ and left. He was rude and did not make my friend feel comfortable at all.
Iâm so happy we only had one interaction with him. I donât understand why anyone who works at a hospital wouldnât want to make sure their patients are at ease and comfortable. I wouldnât be surprised if heâs made other patients uncomfortable with his sour attitude. It seems like heâs comfortable speaking to patients however he pleases and if I knew his name...
Read moreDeeply disappointed and disturbed by our experience here. What we went through felt more like being pressured and manipulated than being cared for.
Despite being admitted and in the building for nearly two full days, we never saw a daytime doctor onceâjust two brief phone calls with one, despite repeated requests and concerns. The only doctor we ever actually saw in person was the night doctor, both nights. Itâs unacceptable to go without a face-to-face evaluation during daylight hours, especially when dealing with a serious infection.
Even more concerning were the tactics used to pressure us into staying longer than necessary. We were told antibiotics would be withheld unless we agreed to stay, which felt like coercionânot care. It created an environment that felt more like we were being held hostage than treated with compassion or transparency.
We ultimately chose to leave early and were only able to receive the medication we needed because of the night doctor, not because the daytime staff made it easy or safe to do so. The whole experience left us questioning the ethics and morals of this facility. I would strongly caution others to consider alternative care if you want to be treated like a human being, not a bargaining chip.
Patient experience team will not help you either, only talk to you like your 5 years old and will only reiterate the reason for your concerns and tell you the same the...
Read moreThe wait time for help is ridiculous, you'd think this was a hospital in Canada.
Secondly the organization and communication from Aids to Nurses than to Doctors is embarrassing. We'll be asked the SAME exact medical questions from each one. Do the notes and medical information never get passed on to the nurses or doctors?! For them to walk in the room and ask the SAME exact things as the nurses and aids is just stupid.
Not enough rooms for patients, they have them running tests in the hallways and in chairs near the waiting area where they have garbage cans rolling right by you.
Aids/nurses who take blood really need to be watched and need to be trained properly on how to take blood without sticking you multiple times and missing.
The standards for a hospitals especially one like this needs to be higher, especially since they charge you and the insurance company ridiculous amounts of money for basic medical help. Its very concerning how stuff is handled here.
I've had mixed experiences EVERY time. But its still better than a lot of my experiences at the...
