Pho Tastic Vietnamese Restaurant — Restaurant in Brick Township

The pad Thai worse I ever had so grease. My friend offer me one of her spring rolls saturated in oil, whatever was inside tasted old and funky. The whole meal experience was terrible. The guy that posted about the shrimps not being devein is correct. Went here because I read the reviews and most people said it was good. Been to another Vietnamese restaurant here in TR that was excellent compared to this place in Brick. Will definitely never go back here again. Wish I would have taken pictures of food to show everyone. I just saw your response to my review. You're making seem that this review was written because of the No byob not true for I do not drink. Yes, my friend did bring her own bottle. You're a liar about me eating 3/4 of my meal. I ate 1/4 of it, trying to like it but couldn't. That terrible amber sauce that you claim it was, to me it was disgusting oil taste. Stuck in my throat the whole night. I have eaten this dish at Asian fusion restaurant and loved it. If this is not a Vietnamese dish, it shouldn't be on your menu because you don't know how to make it. I have eaten in many Vietnamese restaurants in the city, and in California and here in toms River yours has been by far the worst. Your such a liar again, we were your only customers. Please don’t go to this restaurant if you have any kids. They staffs are so unfriendly. Definitely not kids friendly. We came in with our 6 years old kid. He was at the table and playing with the chopsticks and spoon and stood up on his seat to look around the restaurant. One of the staffs (I believe she works in the kitchen) came to our table and told us to make sure attend our kid. He did not make any noise. It was unbelievable. I usually don’t complain about any restaurants, but trust me. This is the worst one.

First, we were at the restaurant for lunch around 12ish; not early morning. This is telling me that the owner responded to my review without getting the fact or details of the situation. I would consider that is a lie.

Second, if the owner thinks that kids playing with spoon at the table is an issue; why the restaurant did not offer or provide plastic spoon for table that has kids. This tells you how bad that service in this restaurant.

By the way, it is normal for a kid to play a spoon at the table in the restaurant. This is another reason to tell people that if you have kids, never never go to...

Worst service! Came in to a grumpy hostess who just point us to a table instead of walking us there. When we want to combine tables to accommodate the party, she yelled at us. Sat for 15 mins with no water or anything. They only have one other table. We promptly left the restaurant!

EDIT: First we are glad that the owner took the effort to respond to our experience. We did not see the sign about rules about the 8+ party. Our second group of 5 didn’t confirm that they are joining us until last minute. We didn’t think the restaurant would have a problem accommodating given it’s a slow Saturday afternoon and a sizable restaurant. But if the restaurant has strict rules, we respect that. What comes down to is the attitude that we experienced from the hostess. As our large party was walking out, she did not give us a second look. We didn’t expect steakhouse friendliness, but we didn’t even feel welcome. We came here because of the great reviews so I do hope this is...
