My husband wanted another suit. We went to men’s wear house and saw one we liked it. Decided we should check out JAB because we had never been and we heard good things. When we walked in we were greeted and taken to a section to browse. We told the salesman we were looking for a suit separate with a complimenting vest if possible. My husband put on a jacket but it wasn’t a great fit. Put on a second and he liked it so we found a vest to go. After putting the vest on my husband went to look in the mirror. He turned to me to ask if I liked it and as soon as he did the salesman who was standing behind him threw his hands in the air and rolled his eyes I guess out of frustration?? We had been there less than ten minutes and he was acting as if we were a bother and had been there for hours trying on 1000 suits. I let that go because I was there to buy something- who cares if the sales guy isn’t the best. So my husband liking the vest and jacket asked to put the matching pants on and went to the dressing room. As I’m standing outside the dressing our salesman starts talking to his coworker at the register. I guess he wasn’t bright enough to think my 28 year old ears could hear every word he said about him being annoyed with us, how my husband asked for my opinion and how he was off the clock in five minutes among other things he though were funny enough to gossip with his colleague about. Well that was all I needed. I didn’t care how nice or well fitted that suit was, at that moment I wouldn’t have bought a piece of gum from that man. At the time I so badly wanted to ask him why we were a bother to him and tell him I heard every word he said but unlike him I had the self control. As a salesperson myself, not once have I ever treated a customer in that way. Maybe he thought he was so slick his behavior would go unnoticed or maybe he didn’t care if we noticed. I really would love to post his name but I won’t. In the off chance he had a bad day maybe a loved one passed or one of the million other scenarios that make people act with that audacity. Hopefully he reads this and knows his attitude and blatant disrespect did not go unnoticed. I would go back to JAB, but I will assure I am not “assisted” by someone of that...

I needed a suit. I wanted it to be fashionable and I wanted it to fit. Pretty basic, right? I tried the usual places that have worked for me in the past: Men's Wearhouse and Macy's. Total fail. My salesperson at MW didn't have any idea about tailoring or accessories and was wearing bad-fitting clothes himself, and Macy's not only didn't do tailoring but didn't have any salespeople whatsoever. It was like being in a ghost town.
I stopped at Jos A Bank (in the same shopping center as Wegmans) and it was a different world. I was helped by two salespeople, Rosa and Jay (more about Jay in a minute) who were both so helpful it's hard to describe. I basically said "make me look as good as you can" and they helped me pick out the perfect suit, shirts, and really cool ties. They spent tons of time with me. Tailoring was done in house, took a week, and when I tried the pants they were a little too short so Jay re-did them on the spot.
I had previously told my son that Men's Wearhouse had totally changed, and that there was nobody there like the guy who helped us in 2019 when we last bought suits. We used to go there and say "make me look good" and the salespeople were excellent: fashionable and helpful and cool. Turns out, Jay from Jos A Banks was the person who helped me at Men's Wearhouse in 2019! Jos A Banks, you made a good call hiring Jay. He's the best. If you're not an experienced suit shopper, you'll have tons of confidence once he helps you. Thanks for the...
Read moreAnother great experience at Jos A Bank. I have been a client for years and find their suits, shirts, and accessories to be top notch and there is always a good selection of shoes. Back in Feb 2020, I had purchased a suit from the Chester location - we know what happened next. Fast forward, I wanted to pick up my suit. I called the store and let them know I'd be coming down - not only was my suit ready and waiting but it was freshly pressed and looking great! While I was there, got a great deal on some new shoes, shirts, and a belt. I was helped by Perry today and I also ran into Michael who has helped me over the years - both gentlemen very knowledgeable and will make sure you have what you need to look your best. Look guys, we will be back in the swing of things sooner or later, so I would recommend you head over, get a good deal on some nice clothes, take a drive get some fresh air, and pay a visit to my favorite menswear store where the service is excellent and the staff are incredibly...
