I don't remember the guy's name, but he was super friendly and laid back, especially since the wifi was down and he couldn't accept card payments. He told the customer ahead of me 'I'll catch up with you tomorrow'...to get her payment....and it was a big order! Love that he was so casual about it! Definitely a great experience and the lobster were perfect!!

By far the best lobster we have had. My family has been visiting Maine for over 30 years, and we have tried many roadside lobster stands, and nothing has compared to the folks at Trailside Lobster Pound. We called at the last minute, and they were able to accommodate us. They were incredibly friendly, as was Millie, their amazing lab who was happy to greet us. The lobster was fresh and delicious! The Trailside Lobster Pound is a one-of-kind experience. The owner catches the lobsters himself in Portland Habor daily. They prepare fresh boiled lobster daily and are offer a friendly atmosphere for their customers while they wait for their lobsters to boil. It’s currently take out only. Best lobsters we’ve ever eaten! Reasonably priced, great service + people, amazing quality.

Business is run by a father son duo who catch the lobsters locally in Portland, then steam to perfection right in front of you. The lobsters are cooked in saltwater which makes them super tender and flavorful.

Highly recommend as the best way to do local...
