I am very upset with Home Depot, who recommended me to Total Mechanical System to fix my combined heat and AC ductless split unit. My split unit was working fine until my dog bite the out door sensor. The error message was malfunction temperature sensor. I paid Total Mechanical System $100 for diagnostic test. Technician came to my house and ran the diagnostic test, he recommended to replace the sensor. A week later, I was quoted for $300 + tax to replace the sensor. After the technician replaced the sensor (less than 10 minutes), I tested my split unit, which didn't blow out hot air. The technician asked me to turn off then turn on the unit I ran the split unit for more than 20 minutes without hot air. I asked the technician to check the refrigerant gas. He told me: "because there isn't an error message for low refrigerant gas, there would be a million causes. He will need to come back to charge me another $100 for diagnostic test." I was confused about his statement, because I already paid $100 for diagnostic test. Later, he told me that he is waiting for GREE technical support to call back. He also informed me that his supervisor wanted him to leave my house in 10 minutes if GREE didn't return the call. Fortunately, GREE technical support called back immediately. After GREE technical support phone call, he told me that my AC was low on refrigerant gas. He quoted me $320 (to find the leak), $330 (3 lbs of refrigerant gas) and $250 ( to stop the leak).
I bought the split AC from Home Depot for $799. Total cost to fix my AC is $1382.55. $100 for diagnosis, $300 to replace the temperature sensor, $320 to find the leak, $330 to replace refrigerant gas, $250 to stop the leak.
My AC is ruined by Total Mechanical System. Technician was right about there was no error message for low refrigerant gas. I was promised by Home Depot for authorized GREE company, but Total Mechanical System doesn't have authorized GREE technician. The reason I asked to check the refrigerant gas, because my brother hired a Craigslist guy to service his AC, who leaked out the refrigerant gas, so he came back to fix the AC again. There is possible Total Mechanical Technician leaked out the refrigerant gas. I feel violated by Total Mechanical System and I am mistrusted by Home Depot.
I paid $425.40 for nonworking AC. Home Depot should screen their subcontractors. After I called and complained with Home Depot store manager, She promised that she will contact Total Mechanical System to find a solution. Unfortunately, I got no phone calls from Total Mechanical System or Home Depot. Now, I'm a...
Read moreBeware if renting tools. One time I rented a dispatcher, and in the first 30 seconds the detaching pieces were loose and came right off. Thank God me or my children were injured. Obviously they don’t check the equipment and make sure it is on there tight. Another time I rented a tablesaw. After cutting the first piece of wood, they saw, kept spinning and spinning, and wouldn’t stop. I had to slow it down myself with a piece of wood. I opened the top, and the blade was not even tightened at all, the bolt was so loose. It was almost about to come off. Do you want to talk about dangerous? Again, beware, they do not check their equipment like they say they do. The only thing and the first thing they should have done was make sure the blade is on their tight. That’s the most dangerous part. Beware when buying anything. 1A. WHEN I CONFRONTED THE EMPLOYEE, HE WAS SO RUDE AND TRIED TO SAY THAT I DIDN’T PURCHASE THE INSURANCE SO I WAS GOING TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IT. I ASKED TO SPEAK TO THE MANAGER AND I HAD TO ARGUE TO GET MY MONEY BACK. NOTHING HAPPENED TO THE EMPLOYEE BECAUSE HE WAS THERE THE NEXT TIME. DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH MONEY I’VE SPENT AT STORE AND THIS IS HOW THEY TREAT SOMEBODY OVER A RENTAL EQUIPMENT Which clearly they did not do a safety check like the tag said! Obviously nobody tightened the blade.
Many times I have bought things and when you open them, parts are missing. Crooked thieves buy things and steal the parts and then return them and when you go to buy it you’re missing the parts. Talk about an inconvenience to you. I bought lightbulbs there and found an old lightbulb or two in the box because people steal the lightbulb and give them their old one and return it. It is ridiculous.
Rude manager as well as some employees, especially some employees in rental center.
I have been to this HD a couple hundred times. Sometimes I have spent over $1000 a visit. I have never ever been asked to show my ID when purchasing anything.
While I was at work I sent my wife there to get a toilet so the plumber could replace the old one and my wife west asked for her ID when trying to buy it. I have spent thousands odd dollars and have never been asked for ID. That was not cool
The other bad thing about this store is that it is almost impossible to get reliable help from people who know what they’re talking about. Sometimes it’s even possible just to get somebody...
Read moreVery poor customer service. This is why I mainly do my home renovations shopping at Lowe's... Unfortunately the closest place for me to run to on lunch is a Home Depot not the one being reviewed here, but the Bristol one is the one I chose to do my shopping at today and will not be going back. I had to make a return and purchase something else, and after first walking up to an empty returns counter, another worker from the online order desk yelled "you'll have to come over here" ... That was my first impression, not a hello, not a welcome to Home Depot, it was a disgruntled employee who would have to help a customer due to another employee being absent. Once I made the walk to her counter, she immediately took a phone call from another employee, and spent my whole transaction complaining about her work day on the phone to the other employee and only aknowledging me to ask if I wanted cash or credit. Never once asking me if I needed to do an exchange, or even thanking me for shopping at the depot. I then took my refund and went back the electrical to make my new selection , took some time to pick out what I needed and not once did any employee I saw walking around ask me if I needed any help, but I did see one walking around with a coffee cup so I wouldn't want to bother that employee, seemed busy. I chose to do self checkout so I wouldn't have to bother anyone then left. My whole time in the store was roughly half an hour where not once did any employee make me feel welcome, and the only physical interaction was with someone who clearly was not having a good day. I just realized I left part of the return home and instead of going back for another refund I'm just going to throw it out and make the new purchase at Lowe's. Don't think I'll be making it back...
