I used to frequent this establishment all the time but its been a while now. I see the website is down and was reading through the reviews to look for some information. I personally have never had a bad experience here. But maybe that is because I adhere to their policies. People need to remember that FIREARMS DESERVE YOUR RESPECT!!! They are extremely powerful deadly weapons designed for killing. These policies are in place to keep you and the staff safe! If there was no rules NOBODY would feel comfortable going there to shoot. Frankly I am happy to hear that you can now use high powered rifle's, even if its only 1 round at a time. Honestly I've only ever wished they allowed them when I'm sighting in a new gun or if I'm taking a friend shooting. If I wanted to go nuts shooting I'm not going to go to a indoor range to do it. I would be willing to bet that some of these people probably asked if they can use exploding targets too! I mean come on people. It's their responsibility to keep the place safe, and if they didn't then they would be on the news quicker than you can bat an eye. Have some common sense. I obviously don't support the staff being rude but I've been here many times and never had a issue. If you're not sure of their rules just ask! I have to give them the benefit of a doubt because on that front if you had to deal with people breaking your rules all day at a gun range where the rules are important you would probably get a little fed up too. People breaking the rules in a gun range is not only deadly but it causes damage to the facility as well. Its one thing if your a newbie and still a bad shot, I've seen people shoot way off target and hit the T post/target stand, but there is absolutely no reason people should be shooting so far off they put a round through the ceiling which obviously can damage their roof. But bottom line is rules are in place for everyone's safety. And I'm actually glad to hear that they not afraid to tell people they need to be followed and that the ownership is reviewing footage and backing up their staff. Because good and knowledgeable help is hard to find these days! keep it up and I'll see you guys soon! Need to blow off some steam from the...
Read moreI work in the firearms industry, and before that I worked at a range for 2 years and this place is the exact reason you see a bunch of new high end ranges popping up across the country. As soon as I walk in an employee incorrectly tells me that I can get a felony for having loaded rifle magazines in an outside compartment on my rifle case, which used to be the law but that changed over a year ago. I suggested to him that the law has changed but he seemed unwilling to even consider that he was misinformed. The range does not allow you to use standard 5.56 rifle ammo, they force you to buy hollow points from them at almost 60 cents/round. It makes no sense that they require hollow points or soft points, a 50 grain hollow point round will have the exact same effect on the steel back stop as a 55 grain FMJ round. They are different from every other range in that they don't charge you for everything until you're done shooting. They were also unwilling to allow me to pay for the ammo and another member of my party to pay for everything else, which does not seem like an unreasonable request. It's 2016, you at the very least be able to split the cost between a couple people. The range is carpeted, which can be a pretty big safety risk because un burned powder can build up in it and lead to a fire, and it just looks really bad. Finally, they only allow you to fire 1 round from "high powered rifles" at a time, and that includes AR15s which are far from "high powered". If they were smart they'd get rid of that rule so people burn through more of the high priced hollows points customers are stuck buying from them. This places seems like the type of range that people simply tolerate because it is close. Next time we'll make the drive to Point...
Read moreThere is so much about this place that is likeable; The employees are not one of them. I'm sure we all know that one guy who is into guns and takes himself way too seriously. There's this guy that works here that is around 6ft. Beard and glasses. Open carries a glock on his right hip and he looks for any and every reason to belittle and disrespect people. I was just up here with some friends that I was helping learn to shoot. I am an NRA Instructor and RSO. I am very careful on the range because I have kids I want to go home to. The guys that I were with were accused numerous times of breaking the rules when I was watching them and was very careful to make sure that they followed my instruction. This guy decided to throw us out right as we were already packing up to leave, while accusing the people I was teaching of doing really stupid shots with their lever action. I.e shooting from the hip. Which they weren't. He was overtly aggressive and attempted to make everyone feel beneath him. I advised him that we did not break the rules and i'm careful of that, and he argued the point with me. I reiterated that I was carefully watching and there were not any rules broken and he decided to ignore me. This is not the 1st time I've had a bad experience with an employee there but nobody has been so adamantly rude and completely wrong at the same time. The staff is either ignorant to the ability to be polite, or they just don't care enough to put in the effort. Either way, a place that should be welcoming and enjoyable, is made frustrating due to a lack of effective communication and none of the staff seem to care even in the least. I would really recommend trying somewhere else like Select Fire or The...
