Update 7/19/21: Recently I decided to test the "improved" experience at my local Walmart and try a curbside pickup order. Spoiler - I'm removing 2 stars from my review. I ordered a few household items on the Walmart app and purchased. So far, so good. I quickly received purchase confirmation via email and text message. After confirming curbside is available until 8:00 PM, I checked in on the app and proceeded to the store. Admittedly, I arrived at 7:48 and this is when everything falls apart. Firstly, the solution for this store to designate parking for curbside pickup. Unfortunately the paper (Yes, PAPER) signs stapled to a wooden post secured in a bucket doesn't work very well for the illiterate masses shopping here. All 4 (Yes, 4) alloted parking spaces were occupied by empty vehicles. I checked in on the app anyway and the attempted to call the store to inform them where I am. An older man answered the phone and placed me on hold. That's where I sat for the next 9 minutes listening to an intermittently static filled message. I've encountered this before at another poor excuse for a retailer and I'm quite sure the static is there to assist the caller into believing the call is about to drop. Upon checking in on the app I quickly received the falsely encouraging and vague message, "Our associates are serving other customers and will be with you shortly." After sitting for 25 minutes with a clear view to the entrance and observing no employees bringing out deliveries I went into the store to pick up my items on my own. I was directed by an employee to the Orange door where the pickups are held. To my surprise (NOT!) the area was empty and no employee in sight. Hey Walmart! Here's a customer service hint. Next time you decide to close early with no notice, at least have the courtesy to send a message through the app or via text message that curbside pickup has closed for the day. I'm back to despising this dump of a store. For the longest time I have tried avoiding this Walmart unless there was an urgent reason to shop here. The pharmacy counter itself was the best department in this store. So between being poorly stocked, a depressing mess, and busy with rude shoppers I just stayed away. The Wilmington and Middletown Walmarts were nicer. If it were possible to give negative stars, I'd give this location a -3 stars. Then came the update and remodeling. Yes, the aisles are narrower and cramped. There are still rude shoppers, but, it's so improved. Recently due to Coronavirus, Walmart has added special hours from 06:00 - 07:00 on Tuesdays for senior citizens and immuno comprimised individuals. It's only one day even though most local grocery stores do this 7 days a week now. Still, this deserves some positive recognition. Again, recently due to Coronavirus, every shopping trip is still essentially a scavenger hunt no matter where you go. Thank you hoarders. I visited this store a few days ago because I was out early on one of my scavenger hunts hoping that some of what wasn't in stores a week ago had been replenished. With the help of a very kind employee who was willing to go above and beyond mediocrity, Deandre, I was able to get a fever themometer. There's still no bathroom paper here, but there was Distilled, Purified drinking, and Spring water available. There was also a very limited supply of cleaners with bleach. There were employees actively restocking the shelves. It appears to be a work in progress at this store and I'll give them credit for trying. I will check back here again thanks to my most recent experience.

Good Evening Google Family!!! I visited Walmart yesterday in New Castle, DE, because I wanted to purchase a few items since I was in the area. I had just departed from the Edge Fitness Clubs in Christiana, DE after doing a fantastic cardio and weights workout. I also bought a smoothie, chocolate banana. I googled nearest Walmarts and this location came up. I wanted to purchase some Nutrafol for my hair, and a waist trimmer belt. I needed to use the restroom before finding where my items were to purchase. I must say this restroom was one of the Cleanest bathrooms of all of the Walmarts that I have ever visited. I found the waist trimmer belt in Sporting Goods. I went to the Pharmacy area to look for the Nutrafol. Nutrafol is used to promote hair growth. Unfortunately, they did not have it. So then I went to the Hair products aisle and looked for hair growth items. I found a product called Viviscal and I decided to try it. I refused to pay an arm and a leg for any of the hair growth products. It said $22.00, but when I arrived at the checkout counter, it came up $33.63. I bought it anyway, not at all thrilled about the price. I hope it works, you have to give it 6 months, then I will try something else, if it doesn't work. I also purchased some sport hair bands. I then proceeded to checkout my items and the total was $52.38. I paid by cash. The associate working the self checkout was friendly and efficient. I would return to this Walmart location if I am in the area. Good night Google Family!! Good evening Google Family, just an update. Walmarts in Delaware do not carry produce, you have to visit New Jersey, Maryland, or Pennsylvania for produce if you want to go to Walmart. Of course, you can go to the competition, like Acme, Shop Rite or Giant. Don't forget to work out!!!

Awful store and customer service. Bought an item from this store only to get it home and open the package and find it missing. Customer service refused to replace or exchange. Instead told me to go to another Walmart and try deceive them.. this is the second time I had to eat a large cost from that location.buyers beware.customer service at this location need to be better trained . I plan to report this store to the Better business bureau. Their actions are unacceptable and should not go unaddressed. Thanks.. So Here I am with another issue with a walmart purchase The LED Light Hood that came with the 29 gallon fish tank I bought started to smell like it was burning and was giving off a strange sound. I refuse to deal with the people at this location any longer. All I get is an attitude and they tell me to go to another store and make it there problem. So here's what I have done .... I have contacted the Consumer Safety Board over this very unsafe product and have gotten more of a response from them then I did from walmart WAY TO GO guys I love the way you back your products..Bottom Line I'll NEVER TRUST THEIR PRODUCTS IN MY HOME AGAIN.

Terrible and rude associates on the floor in the clothing area, esp ladies and men’s depts and fitting rooms. The one manning the fitting rooms, a small elderly lady, disappeared a couple of times, and when she was there, couldn’t be bothered to speak a word to me, just pointed rudely at the fitting room so I could try some clothes, even though I said thank you to her every time to be nice and polite. One time, because I miscounted what I had in my hand, she just stared me down suspiciously like a was trying to deceive her and steal something? When I tried to greet a couple of other ladies to ask for help, they looked at me then turned and walked away from me. If you press for help, they treat you like you are bothering them. One I even asked for help because the fitting room lady was gone again and I needed help trying on more pants, she argued with me someone was back there, I replied not right now I just looked, she walked over to the fitting rooms with me, and because the fitting room lady had just walked back, she said yes there is and rolled her eyes at me and walked away. The last lady seemed to accuse me of trying to shoplift because I was going in and out of the fitting rooms to try different pairs of pants, trying to find some for work that were comfy and fit well, even though I put the ones I was buying in my cart with other items I was going to buy, and the ones I wasn’t buying I put back where they belong to be kind and make less work for them. When I tried to explain, she told me ‘I’m not speaking to you’ and ‘I’m not having this conversation with you’ and walked off. I was so stunned at the rudeness, I left my cart there at the fitting rooms because I didn’t feel like buying anything at all after that. Honestly, what are fitting rooms for anyway, if not to try on clothes to make sure they fit well before buying to try and make less returns? I talked to a manager on the way out, who seemed nice and sympathetic and understanding about the situation I explained and how I felt about it and why, but I don’t know if she’ll actually do anything about it. I don’t want to step foot in this store ever again, even though it’s right around the corner from home for me… even if it were the last store left on earth or you paid me to. I’d rather buy what I need elsewhere without the bad attitudes. I work at another Walmart and would never even dream of treating a customer the way I was treated here. Save yourself the trouble and go to Elkton or Middletown, better stores and...
