I used to love coming here. I had an older lady do my nails. I asked for dip nails. They’re extremely long and yellow. I asked for short. She cut almost every finger and told me that it was my skin being sensitive. Then after cutting me up and bleeding she dipped my nails into the containers and then dumped the dip back into the container for more people to use. Something about that seems wrong but idk. Anyway, I paid $60 for these and $15 tip. This is them exactly a week later after healing for a week. They were pretty painful for a few days and I was worried they’d get infected, but luckily they didn’t. Just disappointed. Editing to make it 3 stars because I used to come here religiously a few years back and I never experienced this before. But the photo and my nails right now speak for themselves.
Reply to comment: Yes it’s the right place. Kelly’s nails on telegraph. I’ve gone a lot. I was there on Friday Feb 7th 2025 somewhere between 1-3pm. The older lady that did my nails has a daughter that is in her 30s. That’s all I know of her. I also overheard the owner talking about the new salon with a client that apparently looks exactly like your salon. Hope this helps. And I hope that the dip situation is fixed because it’s very worrisome. I also received a new punchcard while there that I can post too if you don’t believe me. Thanks.
Another update. I don’t have a receipt. I paid cash. $60 and $15 tip. I didn’t ask the lady’s name and she didn’t ask mine. You didn’t have me sign in either. The only thing I know about her is that she said she has a 30 year old daughter. She’s small and short black hair. The reason I brought up the other salon and stuff, is so that maybe you remember that you were having that conversation. I knowing that this conversation was happening is literally proof I was there lol I wasn’t angry getting my nails done. In pain? Yes. I kept telling her it was okay after she’d hurt me. I didn’t want to cause a scene there were a few people there. I was at the end of the row closest to the sinks. There’s a lady that seems to be a regular that comes in from the bank nearby. You were talking to her while I was there about how another salon just opened and she was telling you they “stole your look”. I was absolutely at your salon. Older lady was taking care of me. She told me she has an older daughter. There was cooking on the tv behind her etc. My skin was so raw and bleeding that I didn’t want her to go at them again so I left knowing I just wouldn’t come back and I found a solo nail tech that takes care of me now. I wasn’t about to embarrass her or your salon. But for sure she dumped my used (blood contaminated) dip powder back into the container. That was kinda the last straw for me. If you actually look at the cameras like you say you do, I’m the heavier girl with brown/black hair at the very end of the rows. No one was to my right. Now I’ve been to your salon a bunch of times. I don’t mind deleting this post and making a new one adding all my punches on my card to prove it. Just because you dropped the ball and I posted about it doesn’t give you the right to attack me and say I’m a liar and I wasn’t there. I was there and you know it. I see you do that will all the negative comments though. Taking accountability and fixing the issues at hand would make you a much better salon. Hope you learn to take criticism soon and stop...
Read moreI’m editing my original review because of lack of quality workmanship. I visited this nail salon 3 times over the course of a month and a half. First visit I asked for my acrylics to be removed and to try another option since my real nails we pretty healthy underneath. The owner suggested base builder. Less than a week later I was back because my nails were starting to break off. The original tech fixed the nail that had broken off by applying dip to only that nail. No base color and a French tip. A week later I was back because several more nails had broken off very short: I returned again and was sat with a different tech. This time they suggested I go with a stronger product. But midway thru the mani they switched the tech and this tech just reapplied base builder. In a very pink color as the base to my French mani. I didn’t love it but it was better than having broken nails. A week and a half later the nails were snapping off again so I went back and asked for a stronger enhancement I was sat with what I could tell was their best tech she started the process of soaking my nails off. I mentioned that I would indeed like to go ahead and have a pedi as was offered while as was there as well, since I did indeed have the time. I was switched to an old man for the pedi. I sat in the pedi chair for over an hour with acetone on my fingers and an old dude giving me the weirdest pedi ever. I could tell he had no official training to perform this service. Meanwhile I thought maybe the tech I was originally sat with didn’t do pedis but that was not the case. She was, within 15 min, giving another lady a pedi. Odd, but ok. I assumed she would finish my nails but instead another guy comes up and starts looking at my nails and tells me to go sit at his booth when I’m done. The service they sold me this time they called it a gel mani. It was actually a gel poly enhancement. I had 3 broken nails. The tech cut all my nails super short and applied tips to all of them. Then applied this very thick ugly enhancement. During the process his only communication was “you like?” And then right back to speaking in another language to everyone else in the shop. As my services were finishing up the owners husband was offering another customer a free gift if they left a review. He seen me glance up when he said and offered the same to me as well. Then complained that this was some silly thing his wife thought up. Fast forward a week and a half. One nail completely lifts. And one of my toes has no shellac left on the tip of it. You can tell they didn’t cure it long enough between coats of polish. I spent $120 for the mani/pedi neither lasted 2 weeks. I did not give them a fourth chance I switched salons. Sat for almost 2 hours having that ugly thick poly gel removed. I do not recommend Kelly nails. They might be good for acrylic designs but they are not skilled or certified techs working on the public. I gave them so many chances because they were...
Read moreMy experience here this time wasn't the best. I had come in 2 weeks prior and got a shellac pedicure (which I loved!) and dip powder nails which I was fairly happy with. Service was good and the inside of the shop was beautiful. I was looking forward to coming back again.
I came back yesterday for a new set since I had lost 2 nails and 3 had major lifting that kept catching on my hair. I asked for the nails to be soaked off since I have thin nails and did not want too much damage. Instead my nail tech told me it was my fault for the lifting because I must wash my hands too much (we are in a Pandemic still) and told me they were all ready to come off. He then shoved his thumb nail under my nail extension and ripped it off. I told him to stop and I said that it hurt. He said he didn't want to soak them since this was easier and faster. He used a nail tip to pry more off. My nails hurt badly and doing this had tore down to the deep layers of my nail that was extremely thin in some spots. Finally, I said to stop and to soak the last 3 nails off.
The tech argued with me when I said I wanted hybrid gel. He was trying to have me get dip powder and I had to say multiple times that I wanted gel so I could get fills in the future (this salon does not do fill-ins on dip powder nails according to my tech). During this new set, I got cut by the nail file 3 times which stung when they needed to use alcohol for the gel. (During my first dip powder set I had been cut by the file twice as well).
Now my nails look okay, but they do hurt still. I provided photos so you can see the damage caused by prying off the old set. This gel is semi-transparent with a pink tint which disguises some of the damage. There was no cuticle work done. My nails are fatter on the end, do not have a proper apex, and some are ski-sloping upward. There were globs of white polish underneath (that I filed a bit off since this it was bothering me.)
Overall, I did enjoy my pedicure and it still looks good 2 weeks later, but I would not recommend this place for full sets with the nail tech I had. It will take awhile for my nails to grow out all the damage...
